How can i change my notification bar so that it is revertible and i can revert back to the samsung one whenever i want/ if anything goes wrong?
Do i just copy the systemui file on my memory card to make a backup?
I bought a samsung mictos ad card of 64gb and the phone cantread it (piss off)
estelle12, 18 Apr 2014EFS folder? Can you elaborate what is it, and where I can find it?@ estelle12
EFS is a system directory that contains device specific essential information such as it's IMEI, wireless device MAC address, baseband version, product code, system ID and NV data.
If the EFS directory is corrupted or lost, your phone is sure to lose its IMEI number and wireless and network connectivity.
So you can see that if you install v4.3 on your phone and then decide to roll back to 4.1.2 then your phone wont be able to read the EFS folder because it is in the wrong format and your phone will literally be dead because it no longer has an IMEI number. You would have to manually restore the backed up v4.1.2 folder.
You will have to use a root explorer app to find and copy the EFS folder on your phone because it is buried deep in the system folder.
Unless you have any app that specifically requires v4.3 then I would recommend staying with v4.1.2 for now; in my opinion v4.3 was a rushed out mess.
SENTHILGANESH, 18 Apr 2014@ killbill Thanks for ur suggetion Is there any way to root S3 without losing warranty?Senthilganesh bro no way,, if you root your phone you'll surely run out of warranty because rooting opens all the inbuilt passwords which are mandatory for the locking the necessary apps and softwares, it they are removed once the company will not be responsible for anything happening with that phone so it goes out of warranty.. Even if you unroot the phone all the locks cannot be restored so the company will not consider it..
Hope this software would help you guys muti-task with ease.
There is a free app called TOUCH ME-ASSISTIVE TOUCH, this app is really cool, you could muti-task using this app without needing to press buttons, plus it has got a ram usage monitoring on it and lets you clear the ram while you are working on another app, eleminating the use of specific apps to clear ram.
All in all this app is capable of multi-tasking, clearing ram, showing the ram usage at all times.
killbill, 18 Apr 2014try to root the mobile phone it'll help delete the inbuilt apps ! hope it helps@ killbill

Touchwiz is very memory intensive; it is filled with a lot of Samsung apps that most people never use.
I use 'Smart launcher Pro' as my launcher. By making it the default launcher I have found that I have nearly 300Mb of RAM available.
Also, try 'Clean Master'. It is a free app that is very good for deleting junk files and has a good memory optimizer.

You can, but you have to make a backup of your EFS folder first, because the EFS folder on v4.3 is written in a different format to the v4.1.2 and it can't read it. Your phone will just go into a bootloop.
You can do that with an app like ktool. It isn't easy, so learn how to do it before you begin. There is a helpful video on:

At least if they cannot update it to kitkat, they should have fixed the endless number of bugs on 4.3.
Poor people who updated their phones are stuck with a terrible battery life .
so that don't buy Samsung......choose only those brand which is taking care of customer rather than earning and sending 100 of new model in market. people want stable phone rather than lots of bug.

Will it be possible?
tiestolord, 17 Apr 2014yes mate there is ;) use vroot english versionThanks :)
And if samsung thinks that the S3 users will be "forced" to buy the newer models, I think their strategy isn't really going to work very well.
because we no longer trust samsung on future updates, and out of frustration, people might just turn to other companies!
aaloksingh123, 17 Apr 2014Latest version of kit kat is in market from one year....if Samsung update s3 in time then defi... moreIf? LOL.
That’s a BIG if.
Think about it.
Look how many model phones and tables they make each year. And look how much stock of each the make to keep up with demand. You really think updates for old phones will ever be on time with them?
Just looking I the update history of past Samsung phones before I got the SIII I knew that would never happen.
You talk about HTC & how long kitkat has been out. But there are regions where the HTC ONE M7 & Max still don’t have kitkat 4.4.2. HTC also makes a lot of differ devises each year but it’s nowhere close to the amount different devices like Samsung makes and mass produce.
You want timely buy iphone or nexus
They don’t try to flood the market with 100 different phones each year. & they don’t have to wait on some 3rd party to make the OS, then add a skin & shit to it after, which have to be tested on all the different versions of phones before it can be sent out.
It as simple as that. You want timely, don’t buy from manufactures that are stretching them self too thin trying to bring out 100 versions every year.
