It could well be that your problem lies with the Firmware on your phone which is well out of date. There is always a delay in updated Firmware in Ireland which I am told is because different carriers insist on their own version before they will update their phones and it gets delayed.
You can always flash your phone if you fancy going down that path. I'm including the link to where you can find the ROM, the Samsung USB drivers, and the software (Odin).
I've flashed 2 Galaxy S3 phones with it without any problems.
Don't bother with instruction number 2, you don't need Kies on your PC, it's a badly flawed piece of software; just the Samsung drivers.
Android applications run in a sandbox, an isolated area of the operating system that does not have access to the rest of the system's resources, unless access permissions are granted by the user when the application is installed. Before installing an application, the Play Store displays all required permissions. A game may need to enable vibration, for example, but should not need to read messages or access the phonebook. After reviewing these permissions, the user can decide whether to install the application. The sandboxing and permissions system weakens the impact of vulnerabilities and bugs in applications, but developer confusion and limited documentation has resulted in applications routinely requesting unnecessary permissions, reducing its effectiveness. The complexity of inter-application communication implies Android may have opportunities to run unauthorized code.

Anonymous, 06 Sep 2012you lie! all apps are working and soonl;y all apps 100% will support the new hd technology! ho... more You sound so childish when you say “you lie”.
You never tried all the apps on all the Android phones so you can’t say all apps work 100%
I am not selling anything so what do I have to gain from lying?
on the other hand I am using the SGSIII now. And my wife has just gotten the blue studio 5.3
Both are Android phones but both can’t use the same apps.
I use skype. She gets “not compatible”
1 use netflix, she gets “not supported” it still works but is misses frames.
The point I was making is… all android phones don’t have the same hard wear. And all programmers don’t test there app on ever device made. So it is expected that some apps will have compatibility issues. If you look at most app version info you read what was fixed. If it was bug free, what were they fixing?
But if you prefer to be ignorant to that fact, it don’t affect my life in any way, so you are free to stay ignorant.
BTW. Nokia is not the only comp.. making WP8 phones. So If I do deside to get a WP8 phone it does not have to be a Nokia. It could be a Samsung, Mr Anonymous.
