> In reply to shaurya. @ 2014-03-30 08:09 from t1$B - click to readno phone is perfect. So sorry. And if you want close to perfect, extend your budget and look for recent phones like s5, xperia z2, m8 or last season ones like note 3, lg g2 etc.

For suggestion, i may ask some questions:

what's your budget?

what you want from phone? gaming, screen, battery life, memory, camera or better music performance etc.

Do you game a lot? if yes, what kind of games?

What do you want your phone to do? like reading e-books or watching movies or listening to music or capturing photos/videos

I would be of really help if you answer these

Have a nice day

> In reply to shaurya. @ 2014-03-30 07:00 from t1$A - click to readyes i know that. nexus 5 has adreno 330. But s4 can play almost every game fluidly. And after android 4.4 , s4 is as smooth as butter.

Yes, nexus 5 is faster, but except this, its nothing as compared to s4. If you are a hardcore gamer, go for 32 GB nexus 5.

But by your name, you are indian. And in india, s4 is available in 28,000 INR. which is 4k cheaper than nexus 5.

It's your choice. Choose the better for you

Ok, but i don't see any snapdragon 800 deviice getting overheated as much as snapdragon 600, s4 pro ones. All the snapdragon 600 devices were said to get overheated like s4, htc one and xperia z were known to get heated up. But every snapdragon 800 device is much coooler. Even reviews say that. The snapdragon 801 ones are even cooler. My dad owns a g2 and i never saw it get heated.

Samsung should have switched to powervr 6 series for s5.

So much GPU power difference in 2 variants of same device looks pretty bad to me. Anyways, iphone 5s also has pretty strong gpu, but it also doesn't heat up.

We are doing an intellectual talk here. so please reply calmly. ok

> In reply to shaurya. @ 2014-03-30 04:52 from t1$B - click to readI don't think so. Nexus devices look so good on paper. But in reality, they have bad battery life and unusable cameras. Also nexus 5 has a very feeble speaker.

S4 has a better as well as removable battery, a better screen, much better camera and touchwiz. Once you learn how to use touchwiz, you can't go back to stock. It also has a host of sensors like barmeter, thermometer, hygroscope, pedometer, gesture sensor and an infrared emitter. It also has sd card slot.

Nexus 5's only advantages are it's faster and it looks better.

Samsung's strategy in incorporating a high end CPU and established GPU combination is POWER SAVING! Its a mobile device after all remember!

Extensive heating can deteriorate components had it been high end CPU and GPU combination. Since the CPU is Samsung proprietary hence being cheap, they are free to modify it Multicore, Core share whatever strategy to maintain a uniform performance. Supported by a good GPU(other OEM) to augment performance and conserve battery to save CPUs running at full throttle continuously! Its a well designed architecture and have been proven so!

No grudges! Peace. Having a variety to choose is best for us as customers with no monopoly! I don't foresee adreno GPUs being overclocked as they get heated up pretty much, and I won't as a customer prefer a 4hr battery Phone though a gamers dream device! Indeed a new variant much smaller surpassing 19nm, more powerful yet battery friendly in near future!

Samsung Exynos 5 octacore's main drawback has been the memory dump which has to be shared and updated concurrently, which slow's the switching hence currently core migration wasn't feasible in S4!

> In reply to mu96XT @ 2014-03-29 15:51 from Trk{ - click to readAntutu is not like other benchmarks. It's a complete benchmark on which we can't compare a single aspect of an SoC. I would like to go to geekbench for CPU comparison, GFXBench or 3DMark for GPU comparison etc. So to compare two GPU, you'll look at GPU specific benchmarks. Also it's a well known fact that snapdragon 800 note 3 is cheating in antutu.

I know a lot about CPU and GPU architectures and I know that 1.9 GHz quad core cortex A15 beats 2.3 GHz krait 400 but we're talking about GPU's here. So go to GFXBench site and see for yourselves. Mali T628 is nothing compared to adreno 330.

And the worst part is, S5 exynos is shipping with the same GPU, Mali T628 and when it goes against an even more overclocked version of adreno 330, it has no chance. adreno will be like 250% for it. There will be no comparison.

What's a great cpu without a strong GPU. And powerful games are coming. Asphalt 8 gives adreno 320 a hard time.

I own an exynos and i can say that it was most probably the last exynos version that was better than snapdragon. Exynos is better in CPU but now it lags much in gPU.

Don't lose your temper. Comment coolly.

All technology not to your liking is crap! the Antutu benchmark is similar to al synthetic benchmarks which can be manipulated! You have no idea about cpu architectures and since you cannot understand many and have no XDA developer naive reviewer for some those too are crap. Crap all! Your posts are as useless as the word crap itself!

> In reply to Ravi @ 2014-03-29 11:24 from uurn - click to readDid you look at S4 or S4 mini. The S4 screen is 4.99 inch and nexus 5 is 4.95 inch. They both feel having same screen size. Just put them side by side.

Unless you are a hardcore gamer, buy S4. It's better.

The Mali t-628 outperforms the adreno 320 and is about 10% slower than the adreno 330. 10 percent slower than 330 adreno, OpenGL ES 3.0 support, better thermal handling ensuring no performance twitches with stable frequency cycles. Calling it crap is toooooo harsh!

> In reply to mu96XT @ 2014-03-29 09:20 from Trk{ - click to readMali-T628 is not crappy. It's just too weak as compared to adreno 330. powervr-sgx544mp3 is slightly powerful than adreno 320 but that is the reason i bought an i9500. After S4, note 3 and s5 exynos versions are weaker than snapdragon in gpu. Let's take gfxbench 3.0. Mali-t628 scores 6 fps where adreno 330 gets 9-10 fps. So there's a lot of difference.

And the S5 gpu will score even more 12 fps as it's even more overclocked adreno 330. And tegra K1 is 2-3 times more powerful gpu than adreno 330. So yes, gpu in exynos are crap.

For the cluster migration. There is a long thread on /xda by adreilux(a renowned dev) on this. There is a chip level defect in s4 and note3 chips that make it impossible to do core migration. However, S5 can do core as well as HMP(heterogenous Mlulti Processing) that can even involve all 8 cores if needed.

Have a nice day
