can anyone tell me of you can assign a message tone for a group? it should be possible when editing group settings.. and when you receive a sms from someone in this group, when you hear the tone to know from who is the sms? or is just written on the display the sender?

I bought J700 a mouth ago. It's a slim stylish phone with good sound. I made the right choise en thanks be to GOD.

Got this phone, its good enough i suppose! My Nokia was easier to use in regards to MP3 player etc! Anyway, sometimes my fone makes no sound at all when someone texts or phones me! it also takes ages sometimes to send a message...if it does send it!

okay ive been trying to change the message tone to put a mp3 file for my new samsung j700 as the message tone for over an hour now and there was no luck, there were comments on the internet saying you cant change it but you can!! heres how.... go on to the menu, go to settings, go to phone settings, go to phone profiles, choose the profile, go to options, go to edit, press the right arrow to get to the 'new messages' window, go down to 'message alert tone' click the right arrow button and you will have the following options... 'tone', 'my voice clips', 'downloaded sounds', 'favourite sounds' and 'music' . go to music and select the file you would like and now this is set as your message tone! hope this helps :)
