The Samsung M300 is a very handy phone. With its size and weight, I couldn't even feel its bulk in my jeans pocket. This is a basic phone - calls, texts, and mms capable. When using the call feature, there is voice clarity. I can clearly hear what the caller is saying and the background noise is reduced which adds to its clarity. When using the text feature: texting and reading sms, the font is big enough and dark enough which makes reading messages easy even for elder people with poor eyesight. The keypad is rather compact due to its size but each key is equally well-spaced out so typing in texts is similar to that of an average sized phone. The backlights and brightness can be adjusted to suit your needs. As for the MMS feature: this phone can only send up to 30kb file size via MMS - be it a photo, ringtone, etc. No infrared nor bluetooth feature. The VGA-type camera is also adequate. Knowing the quality of Samsung, I can also get very good shots as long as the lighting is good, too. As with all other Samsung phones with camera, it also has different options (frames, zoom, mode, self-timer, etc) to suit your needs. The only difference with this phone is that it does not have any video recording feature. For entertainment, this phone came with 1 java game: Snowball Fight and also has FM radio feature that I could use with a headset (included in the package). FM radio transmission is also clear and the sound quality is also good and can be comparable to the sound quality of a sony ericsson phone. Overall, this is a good and handy phone with all the basic features. I can also say that this is a very hardy phone (as compared with Nokia - I dont mean to badmouth, but all my nokia phones were rendered useless when I accidentally dropped those only once or twice!) as I have already dropped mine a few times at that. It already has some visible scratches but other than that, my phone still works at its peak performance. Nice job, Samsung! I also have a Motorola Razr V3x - that is another hardy phone that I love so much. Yes, it already has a few dents and scratches but it is still working! LoL.

Was given this phone as a present a few weeks ago. Would not have bought it myself. Is small and light but nowhere to put a holding cord and the battery lasts about 2 days at the most. The keyboard is so small I have to use my fingernail. The earpiece not too good either - callers keep fading in and out and sound distant and tinny, no matter where the location is. These phones are really ideal for children who like texting, but not adults.
