I went to the samsung shop today to test on the P300.
Finding:
1. Look : 9/10
2. Function : 8/10
3. Price : 7/10

Plus Point : The phone is stylish and slim.
Minus Point : The Ringing Volumes for MP3 and Ring Tones volume was lousy.

Conclusion : I will not get the P300 cause this phone makes no sense. The volume was totally unacceptable, you can't even hear it when the volume was switch to the highest mode. What is the use of getting this stylish phone where you can't even hear when someone calls you. Pls wake up samsung!!!!

I have had P300 for a while now. Yes most people are correct by saying that it looks like a calc or credit card so there is no getting away from that, however does it matter? This phone still looks stylish with brushed steel. The case also makes it very business looking and will keep the mobile safe. After reading through other people's review and owning the phone myself here is the biggest negitives & positives about the mobile -

1. When you begin a text message it always dirverts back to the old way of texting and you have to hold in the * key to get it onto T9. (This is for each text you will ever create).
2. Where the 8 key is located were the 0 key should be, so it may take you a little while to get used with this.
3.The text tones are set and you can not change them beyond the selection you have.
4. The ringtones are not very loud even on loudest setting.
5. Software for your pc/laptop needs to become user friendier.
Positives
1. The mobile is a slick design & one for fashion. (once you get used with it).
2. It is easy enough to use once you get the hang of it.(for texting)!
3. It has Amazing batt life. This small phone has some serious talk/standby time.
4. The display on the mobile is great.
5. The camera takes quality photos.
6. The video recorder is quality.

As I read before, this is the marmite of mobiles, you will love it or dislike it.

I LOVE IT!! It is such a cool phone. Everyone thinks it is a calculator, so I can get away with using it at work. I would highly recommend this phone. Only one negative, the ring tone is very quiet even on the highest volume level.

Phone screen goes completely black in standby mode. No time/date display.

Sound quality is OK mostly. Occasionally it's patchy. Not as good as some phones.

Does the screen go black in standby mode or is the date/time visible? Also, when making calls, how good is the sound quality?

Hey KID, have you actually got one? Or doesn't your pocket money run to it?

Better leave it to those that can actually make informed opinions.

Folks that actually own one think that it's a great little phone.

Excellent phone! Full featured but tiny package. Ultra slim like NEC but with better useability. Can play mp3 and mp4 files (short clips only). Excellent signal and voice clarity. Battery life is very very good especially with external battery-case. Very utilitarian design won't suit some but I like it. Overall excellent!

Right, b4 I go any further I say ... "defininetly get this phone". It's very cool and very good on the whole.
BUT (there's always a but), if you want to sync with your PC (or Outlook) prepare for several hours of fiddling, trying and testing (not to mention swearing). The software that comes with it (Samsung's PC Studio II 2.0) is really, really crap and buggy. Support is virtually non-existent. When you use this software it's like going back 5 years. Be warned!
On the other hand, with a bit of fiddling you can stream MP3 tunes wirelessly from the P300 to a bluetooth stereo headset. How cool is that? I HAVE got it to sync with Outlook over BT, but you have to initiate a sync from the phone (not Outlook!!) and it's not very stable. I still haven't mananged to get any photos from the P300 to the PC yet:-(
Anyhoo, did I mention you should definitely get this phone?

To those who have this phone--when you have the phone in your pocket, do you find that the buttons are pressed accidently? Is there a keypad lock to prevent this? Many Thanks!

I'm pretty keen on this phone, however my network doesn't currently support it, only o2 do. And as much as I like this phone, it's not worth changing networks.
