Does anyone know if they will make a plastic holster for the p300--it's one slick phone.

To address your question whether or not it will work with Cingular? Yes the phone will work with our GSM network. Be advised though. This phone is not reccommended simply for the fact that it does not pick up the 850mhz frequency which the cingular network uses. If you are in an area that utilizes the 850 frequency you might notice minimal reception as well dropped calls. That goes for any phone.

Please make sure the phones you are purchasing are compatible with our network. And ensure that the seller is offering a return policy.

I wonder how many times people will post that this phone resembles a calulator? I think it's funny that all these people want to parrot each other. I personally love the design, it's clean, and masculine, it appears solid, and has some personality. There are so many phones now that are over-designed into a mess of cheap moulded plastic and shiny bits. This is a bit different, not a huge leap really, but at least it's not another curved, brightly coloured childs toy. Looks like I'll be moving from Nokia, who seems to have lost the concept of quality design, to Samsung. Certaily the Samsung/Bang & Olufsen Serene has boosted Samsung's image.

My phone came yest, and damn it's sexy.

Mine came next dam from paris so manual and phone was in french O.o good thing i know a little >:D

Menu is easy to use, sound quality is excellent when using loud speaker or normal, mic quality is same.

Menu is functional and simple, but coz i'm a nokia guy, sommat to get use to.

Vibrate isn't so good, but it's ok.

Only downside i noticed it using data cable to put java games and polyphonic ringtones.

Apparently it's a samsung trait and there is a fix, if you google.

Well I love this phone, and it's very retro, and functional.

This looks like a calculator. I would rather buy an N70. Or break my own legs.

About battery life:
I tought I would let you know. Since my last post here dated 2006-03-09 15:20 (scroll down) I have charged the phone twice.. this should tell you a lot, especially if you put in the middle 2 business trips and about 50 photos. Right now, I still have roughly 50% battery remaining.

Just do the math, in case you're worried about battery life.

to answer a few messages: i purchased my phone for $600. in regards to upstate new york. if your sim card is locked to the cingular network and they are using 850MHz spectrum in your area, you will have a problem since it allows you to select 1900MHz or 900MHz/1800MHz. the pictures are deceiving, it doesn't look like a calculator in real life and it is metal not plastic. the menus, camera, sms, mms, video recording are all excellent. the web browsing is a bit slow. the calendar is good but nokia is better.
i thought these message boards were meant to help each other out rather than post useless comments. i hope others find this helpful. thank you.

I live in upstate new york and I was wondering if I can even use this phone. I really want one, but Cingular (my provider) could not tell me if it would work for me or not. Please help. Also, does it have a spot for a sim card?
Thanks..
Dan

I think your just looking for negatives, there are none when you consider it's size and how much they manages to cram into it.
