it is a great phone for:
1.user-friendly and quick key input, catching up Nokia.
2.very lound ringtone
3.support micro SDcard, i am using 1G
4.long standby time, at least 2 days I think
5.fancylook and light-weight, particularly if you carry 2 phones
area to improve:
1.USB cable not able to charge battery
2.hard to find java games for this model
The only flaw of this phone is that images and videos recorded by this phone cannot be stored or saved into the microSD card directly.
But this is the best phone ever!!!!!!!!!!!
To JAS, the vibration feature is available in this phone, but there is no option that vibration and ringtone would work at the same time, rather there is a feature in the phone, i.e. "Vibrate then Ring"
Thats great! Thanks- googled it, and I'll definitely be giving that a go! Cheers
could any one tell about its battery talk time and stand by time and how its extra battery works
can someone help me plz.. can u let me know whether i canget both vibration and ring at the same time ???
My daughter scratced the bak of my phone I was so angry. one time i bruushed the back of my 1st gen nano and it looked good, So i did it on the back since it was brushed already. at 1st it was like i messed it up cos it went a lighter colour but after about 10 mins of rubbing it went normal, now it looks as good as new without one scratch. Look on google about brushing ipods with green kitchen scrubber
Does anyone know if the USB cable connection to the PC charges the phone?
Hi all, I have just bought this phone, but its in the post somewhere!!!! I am going to get a screen protector for the front but Is there anything available to protect the silver back?? I imagine when I put it down on a table, this will easily get scratched, which I dont want!!! I wont be using the case a great deal I dont think, so am wandering if anyone else uses something to protect the back? Maybe another screen protector- or would this be too small?? Thanks alot
It's not only a complete phone, but thee phone that anyone would love to have or use. At first I wasn't convinced enough, I always thought: "Samsung? mehh", but I guess at this stage of mobile wars and varieties I have and must admit that this mobile has it all, and I mean ALL.
I always thought that mobile phones will always have some important missing feature, nothing in particular, generally mobile companies tend to deliver a non-complete mobile every time they launch one, (Nokia for example).
I got this cellular with all confidence that I'm going to enjoy it, and oh god I'm enjoying it.
Although the usual last line of buttons in the cell phones (Star, pound, and the zero keys) are always in the "bottom", Samsung has decided to do a bold move by putting them on the right, and believe me when I say "IT WORKS", I just dose.
The inside menu is very organized and I was woowed on how things "happen", futuristic clean sounds on each click and hit, clean black slick theme, bright screen with "colorful" colors.
Phone book, an ANSWER MACHINE inside your mobile with ZERO assistance needed from the network company, mp4 player, bluetooth 2.0, a 2.0 megapixel camera!, browser, java applications, games, video recording, voice recording for memos, an 80 MB built-in memory, A mini flash card slot, long life battery with extra battery BUILT-IN into a sexy and elegant leather case that comes with it, a very loud STEREO sound, and much more.
This CARD thin mobile phone might have what many other mobile brand already have but, to get all of this in a 0.7 mm thin device that just works, will that's a big challenge, and this cell phone is up to the challenge.
I can already see this mobile hitting big amount of people in the coming months, the reason i say that is because of its LOW price compared to its features!
I don't know what else to say more, but believe me, this cell phone is what I was looking for for a long time, and I;m assured that everyone who touches it is going to LOVE it.
Samsung, you have done it this time. RESPECT :)
I have a problem with the "roaming" symbol on the top of my screen. I've already tried to change the network but it's only showing me Cingular. My service is with Tmobile. I just wanted to know if you guys know of a way to get rid of it? It's really bothering me.
Also, I wanted to know if there's a way to change the orange highlight in the menu area? Or is it permanently like that?
Dunno about 2gb card - running a 1GB one in my P310 which works fine. I tryed a 2gb card (mini SD) before in a SPV C500 and it corrupted the card after a format and it only works as a 1gb one now and can not be fixed(and ive spent too much time trying) so be carefull dude.
take it easy
Mobile Phones I have used through out my life (started using from 1999), at the beginning I used a Samsung CDMA (forgot the model number), then I left CDMA and started using GSM from 2000, starting from the beginning, Siemens C25, Philips Savvy, Siemens C38, Nokia 8850, Nokia 8250, Ericsson T28, Motorola 191, Samsung T-100 (my first colour phone 2002), Nokia 3650, Nokia 6100, Samsung X600, Samsung E700, Nokia 7600, Nokia 6230, Motorola E365, Nokia 3120, Samsung E800, Nokia 7610, Nokia 6630, Moto RAZR V3, Nokia N70, Motorola L7, Moto RAZR V3i, Nokia N73, Nokia 5500 Sport, O2 XDA Mini-S, Samsung P310.
I am using O2 XDA Mini-S and Samsung P310 currently, as I need to carry two phones at a time. And I found these two phones pecfectly perfect. O2 serves my business purposes perfectly and the P310 serves my desire for a fancy small phone. These 2 are among the bests I ever had.
Yes Bro I think this a normal thing about the ringtone, that at first it rings softly then loudly after 1.5 seconds. At first I thought that my phone was a faulty one too, and even I went to the shop I bought the phone from, I tested another 2 pieces of P310 and came to know that it was a normal thing, and became more sure of it when I came across the reviws about the ringtone issues.
I am using a 512MB microsSD card with my P310, but does anybody know if I would be able to use a 2GB microSD card?
If you are dithering, let me suggest you go ahead and buy it. It is a beautiful phone (at least to this engineer). First and foremost I was hoping (praying) for a clean Outlook to phone exchange of contacts. I was happily impressed as it has a direct sync function, and its sync with Outlook my is best experience yet since using a iPAQ Phone (one of the only things it did well). It syncs contacts, calendar, notes, etc.
There are hundreds of features in this phone I have never seen before, and I can't think of something its missing. It is like the engineers who designed it, expected to use it themselves and made sure it had EVERYTHING.
Things it has I haven't seen commented:
-6, 9 or 15 quick pictures in a row as I have only seen in very high end cameras before
-TV out (with optional adapter)
-Full pop3 email checking/replying
-Rather nice mp3 player interface. OEM wired stereo headset sounds as good as my ipod. The only headset that really seems to improve on this is the SGH 170, but I may wait a month or two before I shell out the $100 for it..
-a quick text entry method that allows superfast entry by intelligent guess of word hitting each letter-number only once, e.g. to enter hello just type 4 3 5 5 6 instead of 4 4 3 3 5 5 5 pause 5 5 5 6 6 6. It turns the 2-9 number keys practically into a qwerty in terms of speed. Amazing how well it works.
This phone bests every phone I have ever owned or seen (owned RAZR v3i, SLVR L7, ipaq 6315, etc.) And what kills me is it does it in a package that is insanely small. Pictures do not do it justice. It less than HALF the thickness of a V3i. Inside the leather case it is of course larger, but considerably protected and now with a second battery. Again, add a cover to any other phone and 2nd battery and they increase in size too. No question, this is an amazing product.
Things I DONT like:
-When not using handfree headset, reception is sub par. With hands free it has been actually pretty good. Apparently holding next to ones head really affects its reception.
-proprietary connection is used by all devices (power, USB, headset, & TV Out). The one connection is unlike any of the rest of my phones and is not standard. Motorola go that right using miniUSB, a standard plug. I wish everyone went with that. The years of Nokia where i didn't have to buy 4 chargers for each vehicle every time i upgraded phones was nice. I wish we got back to that.
-microSD. I guess given the size SD is too big, but Transcend just came out with an 8gb SD and that would turn this into a possible ipod replacement. 2gb just isn't that big these days. Hopefully when the larger capacity cards come out in years to come, this device will support them.
I have the old style P300 and was wondering wether Samsung have fixed the flawed issues of the P300 on the P310.
Issues such the very quiet volume level on ringtones and no vibrate (very weak vibrate) and melody start at the same time, I like the phone for its size and features but was always missing really important phone calls.
If not then I would definately not be buying
