> In reply to vicky @ 2011-04-04 12:00 from YTYh - click to readunfortunately none of the tablets in the market support phone calls. the 3g and 4g is mainly used to connect to the internet, and video conferencing. video conferencing would be a great alternative to voice calls, but it doesnt seem to replace it entirely...

> In reply to bob @ 2011-03-30 03:06 from v67m - click to readDear Bob, those who go for iPad may not necessarily always go for tech specs. For example, check out youtube videos of Garageband on iPad. You can plug in your electric guitar and use it as a virtual amp. GarageBand alone is why some people would buy an iPad, which has no corresponding app on Android, as you can quickly jam and record music on the go.

If you are going to take photos for example, iPad is the weakest of the lot. If you are going to play lots of games, iOS still has an advantage.

Galaxy Tab and Xoom are awesome devices, but its not always pure specs, at the end of the day, its what you want to use it for. I am using an iPad myself, but if my friend asked me which to buy, I would first ask what he wanted to use it for, then recommend accordingly.

Buy what suits you best.

On the video of the 10.1 it qute clearly shows the camera as 8 mp but the specs say 3 mp which is it.

Did they drop the 8 mp when they introduced version 2 of the 10.1 model to make it thiner and lighter than the ipad.

The USB feature is great as it means you could buy a wi fi only model and use your existing USB mobile stick to connect to the internet!

Another great feature is that you can expand the memory by an additional 32GB with a memory card.

Dont buy a ipad wait for this or the Motorolla Xoom both leave the ipad for dead.

Just look at the demos on the Net of both these models.

The ipad will be referred to as a toy when compared to these new pads

Samsung always runes there phones, like with the omnia, the fist omnia came out, then later 50 other omnia models has been made by samsung, some cheap some expensive.

Now the same thing with Galaxy tab, why can't they just make 1 galaxy tab, and next they make up a new name.

Wow samsung faked galaxy tab interviews. Is this really necessary?

Also apparently when measured, the galaxy tab is not thinner than the ipad 2.

Disappointing, as the devices are pretty good. But these type of actions will turn off a lot of people.

Specs are good in competition with ipad2, but the release of this product may hurt its success..

Not much wrong with the hardware of Galaxy Tab. The biggest problem is with Honeycomb.

iPad currently has 65,000 apps running for it, compared to only 100 for Honeycomb. The user interface has also been described by Global Equities Research as 'unstable and poorly designed'.

What does this leave you with? Beautiful hardware, but with not much to do on it.

I would wait for the next generation of Galaxy Tab when it matures into a better product. In the meantime, the Xoom or iPad 2 blow this thing away. Xoom at least has way better camera, and still leads on spec, and the iPad 2 for user experience. Either way, the Tab doesn't have anything to push it into the lead yet.

Isn't it automatic conclusion that it uses Tegra2 processor since Honeycomb only supports Tegra2? gsmarena wakeup!
