HORRIBLE!
Technically from before WW2 and it fries your brain by radiation. Features: None.

The only normal (in sound quality)Samsung Phonr ever created. People needed something like this phone to be a little thicker, larger and with a bluetooth, but instead Samsung as always made the dummest decision
(Discontinued).
R220 PROS:
- MONOCHROME SCREEN MADE BY SAMSUNG
is the best of all monochromes!
-Blue illumination is brain relaxing and not irritating like stupid color screeen!
-The best sound quality (superb een to Nokia phones of that time)
-Good design (though needs to be more larger male looking, that was the reason why not many men bought that phone)

this was 1 of 1st cell fones it was an amazing fone very popular at da time[2004] kinda miss how yu cudd change da color of da light,i had purple.overall great fone.fones nowadays r wayyy 2 overated sidekicks nd such ughh

Actually i want some suggestion from urside, i have some problem in my handset with the network connection, after 10-15 minutes the connection or network appears NO SERVICE on the display of the Handset.
and after restarting it gets connected.
so....please suggest me how shall i make it in good condition.

here, in Colombia this phone is called Samsung fashion or sgh-r225, i bought it five years ago and im so happy, high quality phone made by samsung.

omg at work looking at some funny comments and i come across my old phone! so many memories. This was a pretty decent phone for its time i had it about 5 years ago and i just loved how bright the back light was...served as a fantastic torch !!! great phone never had a prob with it..no moved on to sammsung blackjack(i601) and se w850

Hi, i have this phone for almost 5 years, they call it Samsung 514 here in Israel. Till now i had to replace the microphone, clean something in the sim place, and replace the battary, now with the new battary it still doesn't last as it used to, but not to bad. it really is a good phone, but what do you all mean by why didn't they continue it, how do you know if a phone is a continuance of another, are you talking about the design? cause if not there are better newer phones like the one i would like to have, x820.

I am using this model for about 3 yrs and it is gifted by my uncle i like this set very much.It is a very good,stylish as well as a perfect set for every kind of person.It has excellent features accoding to his price,it is really a gift of samsung to mobile lovers.

this phone was gifted to me by my girlfreind and i used for last 2 yrs,it works perfectly
and i never faced any problem wid the phone ecxept the battery backup,and no gprs,
rest everything is ok,OLD is GOLD,so its the best.

Why would Samsung discontinue the only normal phone it ever made? Instead of improving this normal model by adding a bluetooth, increasing the battery life and maiking the ringer louder they just discontinue the model!

This is the first and only phone i have used so far, 5 years with an addidtional battery... works perfectly. I love the blue background, vibration for first three rings, and the quick switch before meetings for vibration only... will use it as long as it can work :-)

This is the first phone i'm using.Though it's not comparatively stylish and slim, i enjoy its use.
My major problem is the inability to use the WAP service on this phone.I've tried several times to configure it but to no avail, please help me out. I live in Ghana and this is my phone number +233275031593.

Samsung r220=Nokia 3310!!!!
The kings of all cell phones. The only thing is it's too slim, thus doesn't ring loud enough (but I put on vibration anyway).
OTHER THAN THAT:
-The best sound quality
-Durable
-The best monochrome screen resolution (128x64!!!)
AGAIN:
Why din't Samsung update this phone to be thicker (means better better for Bluetooth) and Bluetooth? Why discontinued the best phone?????

Hai I my father is using this mobile for nearly 4 years..... But we do not know how to use internet in this mobile.... If you know please help me... there is a option named "WWW services" in this mobile.... Please I request kindly the SAMSUNG corporation to send me reply..... Ladies and Gentlemen,
I know that most people want to use the one phone they love forever. I feel the same way about this series of Samsung phones. But, really.....if you have had three good years of service from this phone, I say you were blessed. Please buy another one.
I used this phone for a year, and passed it on. I loved it, but was looking for a color phone. That was the only reason I gave it up.
