Looks nice but its interface can be very confusing even to do simple things like the sms the formating is way to complex 2 hard for the average joe to work out.
also if you want any ringtones or games you will need to use imode which you need a telstra sim card for.
almost no Accessories they are really hard to find and only basic stuff like car chargers and headsets no covers and any phone bling :(

I've found this phone to be a complete waste of money, I startedo on a plan in jan 2005 with another samsung phone which didnt work so i upgraded to this one with little benefits. It turns off on receiving phone calls, does not actually receive calls rather says missed call each time, when you go to write a message it turns off and it has also been unable to reconnect to the network after turning off on several occasions. I have sent it away to be serviced 4 times with no luck. Buyers beware!

I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me out with something?
The sms always reverts to full capitals mode. I was wondering if there was any way to get it to be set to the Abc type mode?
I know how to change it whilst in a sms, but I was wondering if there was a way to get it to come up Abc as the preset, not ABC?

this is a terrible phone no mp3 no loud voice recorder and not much memory i would rather a nokia 3310

My wife has this phone and she loves it, but.....where else can you get ringtones other than i-mode? Any help would be greatly apprciated.

ok I'm an idiot and forgot my imode password. Does anyone know how to reset it or what I should do???

hay guys i live this phone and hate it at the same time. it was sold to me saying that u could put a picture on the front but i cant work out how to (if u know how to do this PLEAE SE email me) i also hate how it can onle hold like 3 videos and u cant record voice that sucks otrherwise i love my phone i use it every day and it sleeps right next to me lol

if any one knows how to fix my problems please email or even if u just want to chat thanks by 4 now.

i have no clue why these people are saying they hate this phone. But this phone is the best and will always be the best so if your lookin for a new phone go out and get the samsung s342i its great go get one

howdy all
i got this phone 6 months ago i was nearly the first in NSW with the phone(apparently) and i found it not as good as the seller told me it was.. not only did i have 2 go out and buy a ipod because it had no mp3 or radio but the text is small and the inferd still WONT WORK. im stuck with this phone 4 another 22 months.. im really not happy with the plan either.. telstra changed my plan half way though the deal and now im left with a huge bill!! if anyone knows if this phone can be connected 2 optus prepayed it would be appreciated 4 the email i may love you 4 life lol. the photo quality of this phone is great! just not enough memory to hold the photos, and i mode has been over advertised and isnt that fantastic i used it once and then stoped using it..there was no point in it.. anyway if someone could e mail me back on the optus sim card it would be highly appreciated thanks heaps.

I really don't like this phone. The highest ring volume is really low. The text font is too small. There are some good features but they are far outweighed by the bad features. I can't for the life of me work out how to send an MMS. I've given up and changed phones.

i really dont like this phone even though it looks good as far as phones go this one could be alot better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i think this phone should be taken off shelves because it is just cheating every customer that buys it!!!!

I love this phone in almost all ways - its gorgeous to hold and look at, but the one gripe I have is the whole silent/discreet settings. I don't really want it to vibrate when I have it on silent, and if I want a more discreet ring - there is no "just beep", it has to be a ringtone and I have to manually turn down the volume. I do wish it had a radio - but thats not a problem, just more of a personal preference.

I was gobsmacked that this phone does not support a normal "ring ring" ring tone!!! I really HATE novelty and musical rings and didn't even think to ask when I was talked into this (otherwise very good) phone by the Telstra Shop salesgirl. Went back to ask if they could exchange or advise on getting a normal ringtone and was more or less brushed off - didn't seem interested in helping once the sale had been made. A pity really, can anyone advise on where i can download a normal ringtone? The search is driving me mad!

Telstra has the Samsung E310 on special for only $229 outright. It takes any SIM card - I use Optus SIM and it works very well.

Suggest you buy the E310 instead of this since cheaper and the features are better.

Excellent phone and beautiful to look at. Seems very high quality and screen is very clear. Very stylish and looking forward to using imode feature. Only gripe is the phone should be more customizable (e.g) SMS settings and general phone settings are limited. Can anyone tell me how do I set T9 as my standard text method?? If I cant do this I am considering taking the phone back

Great little phone. Just wish the server would support all websites and not just sites provided by i-mode.

I'm not happy with the VERY small text when you receive an sms & having to go into settings to change to bigger fonts every time you want to send one is frustrating. I'm hoping Samsung will fix this problem. Otherwise it's a great little phone.

I needed a new mobile and my needs in a mobile are very basic - I am not interested in MP3 players etc.
I did a lot of looking around and narrowed my phone choice to this or the Nokia 6101.
The Nokia looked and felt cheap and nasty, plus the external aerial was tacky. This phone has the best graphics I have seen on a mobile in this price range.
I love this phone, I have downloaded heaps of ringtones and wallpapers from imode, the fact that it is not compatible with most ringtones companies is not a problem for me.
