Charge phone to full bars then let phone battery wear right down until it says 'low battery' and bleeps and then finally shuts down. Then give it a good overnight charge without using it. Do this discharge and recharge situation a couple of times and it should condition the battery to last longer - this happens with a lot of mobile phones not just Samsung. If you find the battery dont last long after that try these tips:
Try not to cover aerial part of phone with palm of hand as this can block signal and phone has to use more power, try to always have good signal (full bars) as poor signal use more battery power. Go into settings and lower brightness level of LCD display to as low as possible but still useable. Turn of all vibration on phone for ringtones and turn off vibration feedback and phone beeps/keypad beeps. You can also try with keypad 'hack' turn off GPRS symbol - by default it is on always but you can set by just GPRS coming on when needed (google it) having phone/music at full volume will wear down battery quicker as well. Hope this all helps.

I dont know why.......
My battery barely lasts me 2 days.......
I have used it for 1 Hr Music,1 hr Call,15 min java/Browser.....

I am very dissatisfied.......

I have Star Gt-5233A.

I expected battery to last a lot more than that.......

Any suggestions on how to improve my Battery Backup???

goto samsung centre. this is not a minor software problem. there is something seriously wrong with ur phone as this problem was never reported before.
go to a samsung centre and get ur phone checked !!

King...Please advice
I just bought this phone after reading so many positive comments but to my disappointment its dropping 95% of calls. Its showing full signal still drops the call. I request all the experts please advise me the way out.

Well , i'm goin' to buy this phone soon . but some people told me that this screen phone easily crap . my bf suggest me to buy Nokia 5800 ExpressMusic tho . but i'm into this phone actually . so now , i'm dilemma . Samsung S5230 Star or Nokia 5800 ExpressMusic . help me !

I am letting my batter right down then gonna give it a good charge. The screen flashes low battery and then plink sound and I noticed the screen only goes half brightness always when u have low batter. this is cool feature it means at low battery brightness goes half and sqeezes that last little drop out of the battery power - well done samsung!

whenever u have missed calls or missed calendar events or incoming message, or e-mail. the "no events" widget will appear, and won't go. u can drag it to the bottom of the widget screen but it shall again come upto the top.

u can't set any events from the "no event" widget. it is just a common indicator for all events and communications in and out of the phone, including calendar events.
