Did my research and just upgraded my nokia 6288 to this...i've been a nokia man all my life so it was a big move. This phone is incredible!! Highly recommended for anyone lookn for a cheaper feature-packed phone (im payin $0 upfront on a $29 cap with 3mobile in oz). I've been gettn excellent reception in/out/on top of bldngs but i guess the real test is what happens when i drop it for the 1st time - i pretty much battered my last phone to death :)
Just to answer sum of the qns i've seen poseted here:
*to turn down or mute button tones/change ringtone or sms tones, on any profile, do this:
- go to settings, phone profiles and press up/down till u fnd the profile u want, press options (left soft key) and press edit. There should be 3 panels, the 1st one is dedicated to voice/video call ringtones (u can change ur ringtone, add or change the vibration and change rintone volume), the 2nd one is for messaging tones and the 3rd one is for button tones (to mute button tones, turn down 'Phone sound volume' down all the way to mute). U can access the differnt panels by scrolling left/right and up and down to change the options as you see fit.
*To make a video call, press the button on the left of the cancel button (1st button on the keypad when u slide out the phone) - it's a dedicated video-call button!
*To zoom the camera, press the volume up/down rocker on the side of the phone - prepare to be disappointed :) (u can't have everything)
*To make a video, enter the camera mode and press the right-hand soft key, from there scroll down to 'camcorder'. Scroll left and right to change a whole lot of other options too like 'specail effects'.
*Before anyone asks, the icons on the touchpad can be customised - go to settings, phone settings and then shortcuts. The icons even change on the touchpad!! (I guess im easily impressed). Watched a review online where sum tool said they cldn't be customised.
--Sorry bout wall of text! I love this phone and i hate to see it gettn trashed cos ppl didn't take the time to explore all its features. Here's the lowdown: if u wanna a phone with a camera, great snd quality and is reliable, stylish and easy to use - get this phone!! If ur put off by the 'samsung' logo, srsly it's ur loss :)
