Trish, 22 Feb 2011I suggest you change your PC. for your information i have two laptops and 1 desktop..all of them don't work like hell..so don't blame the computer..kies doesn't detects the phone and keep saying the phone is not responding to kies. the problem here is the software, it is the kies!!...can't you see that even FOTA is not supported by samsung wave,.a nokia handset has FOTA..(eg nokia 5130)..?I have my samsung wave but it starting to piss me off...the camera keeps on focusing and it bugs..at first I haven't encountered it yet, but as time goes by there are noticeble bugs...so I am really in need of a quick update...the most important
thing in a smart phone are applications nd software stability..
well when bada 1.2 is coming in india???

Wave is a great phone.
Updated it with BADA 1.2 here in Manila.
No more video lags. Great Super AMOLED Screen.
All in 1 smart phone. Internet browsing is great.
I suggest that we should update it to the official Bada 1.2 so as for us to have a great experience.
themes are rocking on my wave u know...heyyy u know yesterday i knew about screen capture feature of my wave its really sweet ......i catured many pics from ma 3d games they really look cool wow....i tell u daily i discover some cool feature in my wave .....thsy its an awesome phone for me .....

Since it's my first smartphone, I guess I'm pretty content with what it has. Though, yes PC connectivity and speakers are a drag, not to mention if you have a lot of apps installed... the wave will seriously lag. Anyway, my speaker died a couple of months ago because I dropped it... then it came back to life after dropping it again. It worked for me, it might work for you... not that I'm saying it's gonna work.
always backup your kies app folder which is in documents----samsung----kies---download---applications whenever u download new app also try to download all ur apps from kies as u will have backup,if anything goes wrong with kies just restore the same folder at the same location.

I want to ask when did you purchase your phone u said earlier that it will be replace by Wave II fortunately it didn't. I am also frm Philippines and I bought Wave II last 01/22/2011 and by 02/19/2011 I returned it to Samsung Service Center MOA and they ask me to let them check and call after 3 days then I call and they said it was motherboard issues so again i ask when will i get my phone the representative reply no parts yet so i have to wait. I haven't used it for a month do u think i should ask for replacement or should i wait them for repair i think it should not take too long since its a newly release phone so parts would not be take too long.

click this link and it will open ur pc kies software,download the software on ur pc first and then
transfer it to ur mobile.

I had a serious problem. The speaker died on me. I don't know whether it was due to the diverse type of music I was outputting it with (ranging from heavy metal to jazz to classical), but I began to lose faith in my device. Nothing was working and I tried all sorts of fixes on my phone prescribed on this forum and others. I tried doing the "repeat-a-divx-video" fix as well as the "repeat-youtube-videos" fix on high volumes and nothing worked. I tried resetting the sound profiles and nothing changed. I tried taking the battery out, memory, etc. Nothing was working.
I was on the brink of actually hard resetting my baby, but was really concerned about the time I would have to take to backup my data and restore them on the device from scratch.
So I decided to contact Samsung. I'm currently residing in Manila, Philippines and I couldn't be more amazed with Samsung Mobile's service here. At first, I thought it was hopeless as I tried calling through my house phone three times and no one answered the 1-800 number, always leaving me with nothing.
However, upon trying to call using my cell, I reached another hotline and the customer service rep immediately asked my of my problem and advised me to go to the nearest Samsung service center (which she also specified).
I ended up going to the one at Mall of Asia, just this evening. I walked in the store around 8:45pm, there were no lines for the Service Area, so I casually walked up to the front desk. Within minutes, the service rep immediately knew of my problem. I was expecting to leave my device for a few days or hearing the sad news that a replacement unit would have to be given (in this case, the Wave II, which I really wouldn't want because of its inferior screen and bigger size).
However, to my surprise, the service rep made me wait for around 3 minutes. He looked through their storage, and came out with a brand new OEM part just for the speaker. I rejoiced in this news and what was even better was that he said it would only take an hour to finish. I was expecting the service center to close around 9pm but they actually close late, at around 10.
I filled up some basic forms and showed my warranty and receipt. After an hour (at around 9:45pm), I hurried back and saw my Wave in all its awesomeness and with a new speaker that was louder than ever.
No waiting, reformatting, phone-less days, etc. Everything went by so smooth and efficient.
I really appreciate Samsung's help with my situation. I never would've expected the servicing to be so efficient, especially here in the Philippines. Anyways, I recommend others who face problems to feel free to contact Samsung first before trying to mess around with the phone yourself.
I used to have an Omnia Lite and service was bad back then. Now, Samsung has truly improved. An additional note is that the service rep also offered to upgrade my phone to Bada 1.2 when he saw mine was still 1.0 and told me all the new features. I told him I'd come back in the future.
To all you Wave owners, this is still currently the best phone in the market (while stocks lasts). I don't regret my purchase and look forward to newer Samsung innovations in the future.

Please... moredo you think that I dont know how to connect my phone on kies?..thats ridiculous.. I've already tried to connect my phone on pc nd I did it once...the kies always says that my phone doesnt respond to the computer..the computer can not detect the phone on kies mode..updates are poor...1.2 is available..but where?only on samsung wave II..they said that it is already available here so I want to know how..do you know how to upgrade it?.you can't even update firmware on kies. or even via FOTA(i know wave doesn't support this)..also when you try to open the apps store on kies it prompts a message that "samsung kies is not yet available in you region" eventhough it is available...it's hard to accept that updates are poor but its true..the app store is growing but to slow...that only means that sales are not that good. and there are only few developers thats why bada is like a snail climbing to the top. Im not against samsung or what so ever but I am aware of what's happening..try to open your eyes you are overwhelmed by positive things.
My best phone, 'til now I love it and still # 1.
