only the N8 can be compared to Wave or any other "modern" smart phones today, in paper at least. Nokia is good, its just almost everybody else got better

At least the ones I had gone to (they were the most popular in that area though) and both of em showed me Wave as soon as i mentioned touch screen and they had only good things to say abt it.
What bothers me is that up until that moment, I did not know anything about such a phone man. (I knew about galaxy s) And I should have known because I had been researching what to buy for over 3 weeks and still I was clueless, even though I fell in love with it the moment I saw it, I had to phone a couple of my pals and ask them to quickly check it out on net and gimme a brief review ! I was there for an hour and finally purchased it !!
Otherwise I too would have ended with x6. *lucky me*
I keep getting the 'The device doesn't support for firmware upgrade' message via latest Kies I download form Samsung India website. Is it normal? I am running JF2.

could any1 tell me how long the battery should last on the Wave? with only moderate use i only get a day out of my wave. is this normal?
Kindly note that Bada is not an OS rather its a platform. For details you can refer to: http://mobile-review.com/artic...egy-en.shtml
sunny, 11 Aug 2010thanks for quick reply. Well i thought that N8 has android, my mistake. Anyways, i went &... moreDon't advertise your Nokia phones here. There's no good competition, Wave is much better.
Gulam, 11 Aug 2010Hey Wave user
Can anyone tell me how to set a photo for ur contactu need to have ur contact on phone memory than go to edit contact tap the top where there is a picture it will ask u to take or add from album thats it

Wave has flash and s/w qwerty aswell same as galaxy/iphone. You are better off doing some research before displaying u'r dumbness here
sunny, 11 Aug 2010thanks for quick reply. Well i thought that N8 has android, my mistake. Anyways, i went &... moreGo for anything but N97. That phone is damn slow, display just average and old TFT. However camera and physical keypad is good. But Symbian s60 5th is biggest letdown. And Samsung is a good brand BTW, biggest electronics company in world and second largest in phone manufacturing.
BTW, I am from Pune, India and I was describing about scenario in my city. Situation may be different at other places but I still beleive they need to focus much more on Wave. It comes in stock in small volumes, goes out of stock frequently, no promotions particularly focusing Wave and its potential and so on.. This is unacceptable.

Anyways, i went & checked out the Wave, its seems great especially its Super AMOLED screen, my N85 does have AMOLED screen & i just love that. But i am doubtful over Samsung as a brand & Bada as processor thus was my query. I think the only drawback with Wave is its flash, lack of QWERTY keyboard & only 2GB memory.
Also how is N97mini when compared, i know Wave is much modern but still and does it have AMOLED display like N85 or the normal one?
Strangly, when I went to shops to purchase Wave for my friend (I recommended him), Wave was out of stock and 3 of 4 shopkeepers kept insisting that nokia X6 is better and we should buy it. I had to convince them and my friend again that how Wave is value for money. If I wasn't there, my friend would have bought that phone instead of Wave and I am sure many guys will do that if all goes like this. We end up buying Wave only after 4 days when it was again in stocks. Please Samsung, don't let it slip from your hands. This phone has potential to be winner, let it be.

It is very easy to miss samsung wave in those advertisements !! I am very disappointed with Samsung's promotion efforts regarding wave when it comes to Advertising !! :(
Samsung's very own Galaxy S is killing Wave. They are promoting Galaxy S and Wave in same commercials but Galaxy S is highlighted more and promoted intensively. Strange is many people don't even know if there is any phone like Wave. They go straight in shop and ask for Galaxy S. Wave is out of stock in many street shops (where Indians prefer to buy phones than in company showrooms). Price difference between them is becoming smaller as well. Now one can get Galaxy S under 25K. If Samsung have to make Bada a strong community, they will have to promot it. Times of India has negatively reviewed Wave and Bada OS. Mouth publicity is mixed (Galaxy S one the other hand is praised everywhere). Hope Samsung focus more on Wave and make it most successful phone.
sunny, 11 Aug 2010Hi guys, i want to know about Samsung Wave. I am currently using N85 & now want to replace... moreN8 does not have the Android mate. :) It still has symbian. Though it is a new version Symbian^3. It will probably be released in September. Now it would be apt if you ask further questions about Nokia N8 in its respective forum. :) You may get more precise information there.
You are right. Samsung Wave is a new phone with a new Os and there are not many apps available as yet. It is the best phone in its price range though, having all the features and excellent hardware with impressive build quality. It'd do you better if you check all the phones out personally, get their feel in your hands...see the super amoled on samsung and know if it really works ;)
And then research further on the ones you like if you still cant make your mind up.
