I have a one track mind so I eliminate everything which is not 1280x800 resolution when I do wallpaper hunting for it. :P I never took it into account that it will fit the page even if it doesnt scroll !!
And you wont believe how badly have I been looking for a good looking-through-water wallpaper. Specifically like if you're looking out from a wet window. :) Thanks mate I am gonna look for that one there !! Yeeayyyyyyyyyyyyy !! :D

I'm using the same widgets you're using actually...even a similar lay-out. Only our background images are different. :) I stumbled on the mysamsungwave and the samsung firmware world forums the moment I got home with my wave. :D
I'm using the dewdrop theme with one of the water-themed animated gifs from the link I posted actually, so I'm surprised that you can't find the images with the right resolution. They're 480x800, so they don't scroll when you swipe to another homescreen, but they move. The one I'm using now has a looking-through-water effect, which goes well with the drippy icons of dewdrop. I'll screencap it and upload it somewhere so you guys can take a look.
I've made animated gifs using corel photo-paint, very similar to adobe's photoshop. The 1280x800 one plays on desktop computers, but the wave doesn't display it, I don't know why...
truthbetold, 10 Aug 2010who's wave has restarted a few times?is it rebooting while doing a particular thing ? Or randomly ?
If your wave is restarting on its own, then I suggest you make use of the warranty and get it exchanged mate. :)
NAGA, 10 Aug 2010Hi can u tell about OS Bada and Android both are the same right?and it can use programs like A... moreNo Naga, Bada and Android are different operating systems, not the same. And I dont understand your 2nd questions but if you were asking if you can use Android's applications on Bada devices, then the answer is No my friend, you cannot do that. :) Bada has its own app store and you can use the apps available there.
jp, 10 Aug 2010Hey, new waver! :) I saw you're homescreen screenshot! Great stuff! I guess I let the cat out ... moreAnd lol I've been following alot of your advice to others too !! Thanks alot for taking the time out and helping us mate. :) I think that it is the only way for a community to grow that people share their suggestions and problems. Eg : this very forum, Ive helped a few and learnt alot from here which has allowed me to enjoy my device to its potential !!
A community is as good as its users.
Just a small tip for everyone: there's a search bar above for searching this Opinions and Reviews thread. Some recurring questions and comments, such as about using GPS for free or headphone problems, or (the most popular) battery life, and other stuff may have already been answered several times in earlier posts. So if you have a question, you may not actually need to wait for someone to answer, it may already be there. The search bar is your friend. :)

The widgets and themes come from another forum. Those guys have lots of stuff there. :)
www mysamsungwave com
And errr...I did check the link you provided earlier but none of em were the apt resolution (unfortunately). How are you trying to create the animated gif though ??
ps : The wallpaper came from google. ;)

The guy actually went to Samsung service center before he got to read that reply and the service person simply showed him that it wasn't all the way in.
Anonymous, 09 Aug 2010can any one advice me....is the samsung wave better phone or should i go for nokia x6 16gb....... moreHi dude!
definitely wave..coz its way faster than x6 n better built..i use wave n my brother use x6..but later he changed to wave too..reason very simple made of cheap plastic n i mean it(shocking though coz nokia products are pretty solid) but x6 is such a crap to hold to..s far s d software goes well most of d time u will b left guessing when clicking a button whether d device has recognized ur inputs or not ..wave is way faster dan x6..music if u take d headphone into view its almost same..though in matters of loudness x6 has a upper hand..but think about it do u wanna spend money on a phone that's cheaply built or wanna hold on to a well built super fast with d best display like wave.. u can check d ratings at tech radar n u will c wave got a 4.5 rating out of 5.. yes s per s apps r concerned thr is some limitation coz bada is new but m damn sure come dis december n u will find the site loaded wid lots of apps..for a newcomer its a sure winner..i hav it for almost a month now n man i happy i have made a right dcisn of choosing wave ovr x6..
come xt yr u might find wave with unbreakable super AMOLED screen..samsungs is most likely to release its product wid this dis new tech..u can chk you tube for videos on wave n unbreakable super AMOLED sceens

jp, 10 Aug 2010You're right on the money, New waver! Come to think of it, historically the Bada introduction ... moreIt is very well indeed smoother than all. :) Well, the guy had said something about apps too, and apple had launched the app store after an year of launching the Iphone. And I agree with you, where apple really helped (someone else apart from itself) is by revolutionizing the market itself and forcing competition to do better !!

I guess I let the cat out the bag when I gave tips about backgrounds, huh? Hehehe! I've been following your suggestions and tips to others myself! Thanks for all those btw!
Is that background you're using animated? Scrollable? I don't think I've come across it anywhere. I've been trying to make an animated gif that's 1280x800 so that it's also scrollable, but I can't seem to get the settings right enough that the phone will display it. Any ideas?
I bought a wave recently. Everything works perfect but when I plug the head set & play music sound comes through only one side of the head phone. I am wondering whether I should replace the audio input socket. Can someone help me to get this fixed.
New waver, 10 Aug 2010Man, even if you want to derogate wave, at least throw some logical comments worth arguing. Th... moreYou're right on the money, New waver! Come to think of it, historically the Bada introduction is thus far the smoothest birthing of a phone OS. Except maybe the intro of the original iPhone, which isn't actually a smartphone yet, and with even its fourth incarnation paling in comparison to the capabilities of less expensive phones. (But I do bow to its introduction of the multi-touch handset screen and UI, which really changed the industry forever).

Did you see my homescreen ? Come on ! Dont ruin my "Showing off fun" :D :D
Anonymous, 10 Aug 2010is there ne other phone available in the market with almost same specs as wave but having andr... moreSamsung Galaxy Spica and LG Optimus are touchscreen smartphones priced just about lower than the Wave. Both run on android, but still have all the major flaws that early android versions have (they're made with the 1.6 cupcake version in mind, spica has 2.1 update but performance becomes very erratic; optimus is actually newer than even wave, but is limited to cupcake). But that's about it, their specs are way, waaay below the wave. Others with better specs than these two (with some still spec'd lower than the Wave) are priced higher, even those coming from Samsung.
I don't think that at its price point you can get Super Amoled screen (just this is worth the price already, you have to see the screen in person, vids & pix don't do it justice), HD video recording and playback (esp a wide range of formats that even includes mkv), GPS, wifi-n (really great for streaming HD videos from the phone to an LCD screen) and, from what I hear (both from the phone itself and from reviews) the best-sounding portable music player thus far (I can guarantee it beats out dedicated music players, even all iPods, and it has a really beautiful interface). Connectivity is all there (even beats out more expensive phones with wifi-n and bluetooth 3). I think they priced it at a steal to lure users to Bada.
So your best bet to find something with comparable specs and price would probably be another Bada handset...or if Wave becomes really popular and forces prices of other units down.
Omnia II prices have been lowered to almost the Wave's price, but it doesn't have super amoled, HD video, wifi-n and some other wave surprises, but I think that would be your best option if you're jittery about jumping on the badawagon

There are definitely pitfalls to getting this first of its kind phone. You don't have to convince others not to get it either. They can see the problems posted by users themselves. They can also search if anyone's found a solution or not. I'm not sure what the purpose of your post is. Nor why I'm replying, come to think of it... :D
