as it seems galaxy s might be ur right choice as it's an Android you'll probably be able to access all the cool apps with an Award winning phone. Waves are also the best social media phone but as for the apps you have to sacrifice, as it's a metallic beauty :)

i want to buy a samsung mobile wave or galaxy but i m afraid of samsung service, will the support these phones in future or simply dump like they used to do??
♥ samsung touch phones, but for now BADA ( lovely thou but ) might not be a the perfect platform for now i.e mobile world has iOS, Android, windows and Symbian the markets too crowded for a new platform.
Still an eye candy with an amazing touch + features, but lack of apps. i personally like S8530 more than sgs but gotta admit Sgs is by far the best and it's platform ANDROID gives a total boost by apps and this phone considering an award winner Long way Sgs Android rules!
[deleted post]if you update you wave1 to 1.2 you will also get it.i think 1.2 will be official through kies at the end of this month for wave1.
[deleted post]yes it does cos it comes with the 1.2 os update.its not called swype though, its called T9 Trace.

I just wanted to make sure that i look at the wave2 also and them make a choice. do you think samsung would continue selling the wave1 after wave2 is released? as wave1 is out of stock at most shops and they say they are waiting for an upgraded version of THE WAVE.
Great phone but..
Symbian > Bada
Samsung should stick to the Android.

The display is awesome. If the screen size isn't a matter then wave 1 is a smarter choice. yes it plays .mkv, divX/Xvid,mp4, HD 720p movies very nicely straight out of the box. you won't need to make any modifications to your videos to be played on wave 1. wave 2 is also a v. nice phone but wave 1 looks just perfect in hands due to it's forms n shape. Final decision is yours. :)
when is this coming to India ?
the only thing I miss on the All powerful Wave 8500 was a bigger screen ... really get fatigued squinting at reading the text on it ...
Samsung bring this to India soon !
i have wave , it has few major design issues. 1: T9 dictionary is useless 2: it does not have back button, everytime we need to press right hand side key and it directly comes out of all application 3: google maps does not show your home position 4: so far samsung should have come out with patches to resolve these issues
