Still the Porshe of cell phones. The thinnest and most beautiful phone in the world! Samsung please release this phone as a CDMA phone! Two problems. The screen scratches easily. Solution? "Shieldzone". - It works great. Second problem; lots of dropped calls on the GSM network here in New York City. It sucks. Ahh, to suffer for beauty...

In an earlier post about deactivating GPRS, someone wanted to know what "PDP" is. Here is your answer:
It's a method for network initiated Packet Data Protocol (PDP) context activation comprising the steps of: registering by a mobile station with a push application using an IP address; activating a PDP context of the mobile station by a gateway; and saving by a network device the IP address and an access point name (APN).
DON"T MESS WITH THIS WHEN DEACTIVATING GPRS, unless you know what you are doing.

this phone hangs up a lot when you make a call and cut the line, needs re-booting all the time by removing the battery. also blutooth doesnt work well with laptops as it fails to transfer the files. its only beautifully done slim and light weight phone and that's it and nothing more than that.

Don´t buy if you want to have a music library,if you´re a teen and want to play videogame on the phone or if you have large fingers...
Buy if you want forget that you´re carring a phone and if you have a laptop with bluetooth and you can pass data to a larger hd...
And yes, you MUST charge the phone every 3 - 3 days...
But i´m happy.... I can say I love this phone

If I put it in my pant pocket and sit on it, will it break? Does it give off a feeling of durability or do you feel you'll break it if you sit on it wrong?
I really love the size and weight of the phone on paper but I'm a little afraid...

G'day folks. I left a review a few days ago about this phone(U-100). Well, I can now tell you that the phone is dead. I was transferring an MP3 file via Bluetooth to the phone and it seized up and wouldn't respond. I removed and replaced the battery to reboot the phone but it gets to the startup screen and seizes up completely again. Maybe I overheated the Bluetooth chip(if there is such a thing). Who knows. Anyway, maybe I shouldn't have recommended this phone. It looks good but perhaps they forgot to allow for adequate cooling of the chips.

I bought this phone today, so my opinion is a short lived one. The first thing I want to say is that it's not fragile. It feels strong and doesn't flex. The screen is smaller than I imagined, however it's not annoyingly small. The colours it produces are great. Watching a movie on it would be a chore though. I put a couple a YouTube videos on it today and it was fine for that. The mp3 interface is fantastic. The earphones that Samsung provide are reasonable but not great.
I read a lot of bitching about the memory limitations of this phone. For me, the 70mb onboard is fine. I don't need a memory card with 1000 songs on it. Who does? I can put a new album on the phone each day and still have room to take 20 or so photos. I'm not a teenager so this suits me fine. The 3.2 meg camera is ok. I own a Nokia N70 with a 2 meg camera and it takes pictures of equal quality so don't get to excited about the camera. The video quality is average YouTube video quality. Hardly worth watching. The keypad on the U100 takes some getting used to. I'm not fluent on it yet so I can't really judge it. The call clarity is great. The reception is great. The "loudspeaker" isn't very loud. To be honest, I bought this phone because of it's novelty factor and it hasn't disappointed. It's great fun. I will keep my Nokia smart phone for daytime use and take this one out at night. It's perfect for when you don't want to carry a phone around, but have to. In summary, I would say grab one if you can but don't expect it to replace your smart phone. I got mine new on eBay for AU$150. Bargain!

I have a question really regarding the u100, ive owned the x820 for 18 months now and will be upgrading shortly. i have had a problem with the x820 whereby it is virtually snapped, does anyone have the same problem with this phone as it is 1mm thinner than the x820?

a fine phone for those of us with blackberries etc. who want a small, light elegant phone. I found a 900mAh battery on the web that fits (a bit tight, but OK) and gives a 40% increase over standard 650 mAh that ships with the phone.

I have been using U100 for the last six months and I did not have any problem with it except one: I can't pair it with my Garmin Nuvi 660. When I try to pair these two devices U100 start restarting or become disconnected in 30 seconds. Trableshoot section in Garmin does have a few Samsung phones, but not U100. Is it possible to upgrade a firmware in the phone? Hope a new firmware could solve this problem.
