> In reply to Comrade @ 2008-03-23 12:17 from 03E%After two official Samsung services (5 new batteries) it gets up to 20 hours only on standby - less if you actually make a call.
20 hours standby after all night charging.

Cam OK, texting is not user friendly.

I have this phone now for approx 6 months.
And the following things are to be noticed, in mine opinion:

Positive:
-Beautifull design
-Software is fast
-Nice big (enough) screen
-Nice features, like background that moves along with the daytime (in the evening it looks like the sun is going down on the screen)

Negative:
-For the sms'ers between us, it sucks, the touchpad is difficult to handle even after 6 months, I hate smsing now :S
-The battery life is way to short, it says stand-by 300h but when you make some calls (I make about 5 calls of aproxx 4 minutes a day) it won't even last 12 hours of standby.

Overall:
Ik think the battery life and the sms behaviour are two heavy points, I would not have bought this phone, even with the nice features.

Hi all. Can someone please tell me about the battery life for this phone? I know the battery is located inside teh back cover but what about its performance?
Is it as bad as the Moto Razr V8 or better than that?
Thanks.

Can someone tell me if this phone has the facility to remind you of birthdays etc annually. With my previous Samsung I had to re-enter birthdays each year which is a pain.

After lusting after this phone for almost a year, I finally got my hands on one.

I although I didn't want to believe it, the things they say about the keypad are true. It's inexcusable Samsung!

God, I'm so glad I didn't shell out for this phone.

I bought an X820 which I love, but I still may go for the U100.

I love all the features etc but the buttons are hopeless - you have to either press them so hard of exactly in the centre for them to work. Would definately NOT recommend it
