First thanks for the tips about the peeling problem. I also have the same and my phone has just 5 months.
My concern here is more about the technicals spec of the phone. Samsung said that the phone is MIDP 2.0 compatible but I have been programming a quite advanced software that runs perfectly on other mobile (nokia, sony) but not mine. Whenever I try to run a .jad file the phone tell me that I have an unsupported file type.
Has anybody encounter the same pb ?
ps: software develop with Nokia sdk S60 second edition. Jsr 118, 135 and 234.
i love the phone but am worried of the peeling off!its a fabulous phone really.
thanx to samsung!!
Guys! Finally I bought my U700, very cool slim phone! But sadly, this is thfirst problem that I encountered. I can't connect it to my PC. it wont accept the driver after installing it from the CD, even after updating it. Help guys!
Janjalani, pre may U700 na din ako. I also had it gmasked, thanks for the tip!
Hi SamsungFREAK, i was just wondering where you got that information from and how credible it is...i am very interested in buying this phone and would like to know more...thanks!
The peeling problem has been fixed all the phones sold from 01/01/2008 are painted with a diffrent paint that wont peel and those of you that where unlucky to have bought the phone before that ,just take take the phone when it starts peeling to the place you bought they will change the face plate free of charge cause it is in the waranty
Hi, I just bought the samsung u700 and I'm very worried about the peeling problems that have been posted. Where does it peel from? Besides the peeling problem, does this phone have any other major problems? I would appreciate anyone who can let me know. Thanks.
Why is the samsung u700 so diffrent from the d900I when i got the phone i didnt know where was enithing in the menu i have had the phone for a month and only yesterday found the bluetooth since it is not in aplications like every other samsung ultra edition phone
Ok I've had my eyes on this phone since last year and I've finally decided to buy it - I've had it now for 3 months and so far there isn't anything that I don't like about the phone just for maybe the fact that you can't change the phone theme... other than that it's a GREAT phone >>> good camera (back & front!), good speakers, decent talk time, solid slider, good clickwheel (not loose like the US release of the lg chocolate,)big screen,& there's video call!
Now for som problems that people have been complaining but I find my way working around it...
PEELING- Get CLEAR PROTECTOR fullbody screen protector,(don't buy a case if you want to keep it's slim design,)I got mine off of ebay & I recommend you get this one because it will actually cover the silver sides. G-mask will work too but since I live in the US ebay is my way to go...haven't peeled, period.
TOUCH SENSITIVE- Okay so it is a bit sensitive but it really depends on the person. Some people thinks it annoying well that's their problem for not being able to get used to it,(like maybe they got big fingers, well it's not the phone's fault you have big fingers right?)the sensitivity of the buttons are the same as any other touch sensitive devices.I find it easy to get used to but that's just me. Also getting a screen protector made out of those clear film will reduce the sensitivity.
PLASTIC FEEL- Again depends on the person, if someone doesn't lke a plastic toylike feel that's all on them. I personally think this is a plus because if it isn't made of plastic how else can it be lightweight? Isn't most phones today made out of plastic? But don't worry you'll know this phone is solid when you slide it up because it shows to be very sturdy.
I would recommend this phone to anyone who likes a sleek & very nice looking phone. Remember it is a fashion phone so don't expect big features like nokia. Though it does have decent features you know, lets just say it's not a 'cheap' phone...no sir.
can i make my msg displays in vid mode like u600 and when iam writing or receiving msg the backround will be black ???? plz help me
i've had the u700 for 5 months now & it started peeling after about the first month but now i have peeled away all the silver stuff on each side of the face as well as the top & it actually looks quite nice with all the silver.however,i shouldnt have to have done that & i wouldnt buy this phone again because the touch screen face gets irritating
i luv dis fone its soo hott its my baby boo its always rite beside mee its loud if u have peelin probs buy a plastic cover 4 AU$1.00 really cheap its perfect i recommend u buy it ull love the peeling has never happened 2 mee and i=ve had it 4 2 years now not even a scratch with da plastic protector
maybe the peeling is caused by your actions, it will not peel ugly if you just took good care of the phone. it's all on the person who handles it. well, at least try not to experiment on it,.
well,. when it comes to the peeling, there's a plastic protector that you can use,. and it cost cheap. i like it's music player especially when the headset is plugged on, it's like you're using an ipod.! great sounds,. and it's so skinny, yet not too thin. it's stylish too with all the sensor and everything.
blay: don't bother going through optus, just contact a samsung service centre and they should fix it under the warranty for free -that's what i did.
sad to hear that some have peeling problems, but mine after 5 months of use, still looks good, no peeling. thanks to gmask nad lots of TLC. ;)
s it true? That the peeling off problem has been solved by Samsung? Please confirm this especially to those who bought their phone here in the Philippines. Thanks.
these are 2 peeling pics of the u700... maybe samsung now uses better color but we cant be sure
i really want to purchase this phone as well, but i am a little turned off by all the posts concerning the peeling problem...i did a search on the internet, and nobody seems to have posted any pictures of their peeling u700 phone...does anyone know where we could see this type of pictures?
