just acquired the U900 and so far so good except for one thing if anyone can help or advice me. When i go to make a videa call to someone else who has the option of recieving it wont allow me as it says 'sorry you are out of range for 3G coverage, choose other action'. what does that mean and what can i do to sort it out so that i can make videa calls??

I had the option of this phone, the nokia n82 or the SE G900 i ended up the the soul and i gotta say the longer i have this phone the happier i am with my decision..my mates got a n82 so ive mucked around with his and the G900 hasnt been getting the best of wraps although it has only just been released.. i got kinda bored with the n82 pretty quick and as far as pic quality goes yeah the n82 has it beat but only by a very slight margin (obviously at night with the xenon flash its got this ph beat) but 90% of the pics were on par with the n82. The only fault i can see with this phone is the occasional low in call speaker volume but again 90% of the time it seems fine and as i mainly use the phone for music and texting it doesnt bother me too much. and now to the music player, i just bought some pretty expensive headphones and when i used them with this phone i was blown away!!! the Bang & Olusfen amp and sound quality of this ph is RIDICULOUS!!! easily beats my Ipod and i mean EASILY!!! as i said man the longer i own this phone the glader i am with my decision.. this ph is awesome.. in my opinion anyways, peace

Samsung Soul vs Sony Ericsson W890
I know that theyre concentrating on different things (camera+design and sound) respectively, but which do you think is better both as a music and camera phone?
Also, does the soul have any bugs or technical probs? My prev samsung phone kept on restarting after a year and some of my friends with sansung phones also have all sorts of problems with them..

> In reply to Keith @ 2008-06-03 11:09 from Bjq9To begin with this is not designed as a smart phone so to comment about the limited calendar entries seems rather unreasonable? (pardon my ignorance if SE and/or Nokia are making non-smartphones with unlimited calendar entries).
As for incompatibility problem with your backup service provider, it can be a problem with the service provider also (that they're unable to support Samsung phones) ;)
Sorry if i've sounded over-defensive... just lovin this wonderfully designed (well, at least aesthetically) phone :)

Nice looking phone but 2 very disappointing features: calendar only holds 100 entries which renders it useless to synchronise with Outlook diary, and phonebook cannot be synchronised to back up services such as Mobyko. Won't be getting another Samsung ...

Is there any way to change the shortcut at the bottom right of the screen? I'm only able to change the 4 shortcuts on the touchpad. Thanks!

to mute the key tone sounds.. little easier than the previous comment..use the volume control on the side of the ph.. click it down a couple times until its muted...simple.

I really don't post opinions on phones but I see people in here having problems with the Soul's Volume. Firstly, the call quality is superb on my phone, don't know if its just a selected few, (I got a Soul Grey phone and the right soft key is a small globe for the internet) my speaker phone also sounds pretty good in comparison to my last phone (SE W910i). The ring tones could be a little louder but thats nothing adobe audition can't fix. :-) Samsung did an excellent job with this phone...heck even the vibration for calls/messages can be changed to a users liking and it actually fades in and out with varying strength, never felt nothing like it. The build quality is from a next world; humans don't build phones that feel this good, look this nice or are this robust. Very meticulous design. Truly a work of art. Its in the top 3 for non smart phones in every department...camera, organizer, size, looks, music player etc and I think that was Samsung's intention. Its the best non smart phone overall on the market because it does everything well and it doesn't freeze and shut off like my W910 did. Excellent job Samsung. Truly a beaut'. I am unaware of the problems ppl are having with the back cover also, because I had no problems that was actually the first thing I tested. Yall need to eat some spinach if thats the case.
Design, feel, sex appeal.
