Just brought this phone, was worried that "magic touch" would be hard to use, but this is not the case, very easy to use phone with a gr8 camera ... at last Samsung! LOVE IT !!!

q{fc: u say u have a 4 Gig card in your handset..I have check the cards compatible with the u900 and the maximum i can find is 2 Gig. What make is your card and where did u get it from?

On my second handset now and still the ringing and caller volume is appalling. Great shame because lovely phone but what is the point if you cant hear it ring or hear caller clearly. Had many samsung phones and they have all been far louder.
Anyone know solution pls

I would say this samsung is one of the loudest on the market, i have worked in phones for almost four years and would deff recommend this one!!

yes the touch pad locks when u slide it closed. if u touch it yourself, the phone won't respond. only if you press a button will it ask if u want to unlock it.
i think depending on how lucky u are, u mite get a defective phone. mine has a loud ring tone, has a loud enough caller volume (though i'd like it louder) and it doesn't turn off after 10 mins of use. i used it for 20 mins last nite, no probs.
only thing is that the vibration is rather weak.

I've always been a Nokia or Samsung girl when it comes to phones and am liking the look of this one but the LG KF510 is a lot slimmer and it comes in red so I'm drawn to that one as well. I can't decide between the two.

Does the touchpad lock when the slider is closed?
What I mean to say is, will it start cycling through menus or dialling people randomly whilst i'm walking with it in my pocket?

Ok. so is the u900 worth having?
For many reason's i'd like to say no (the fact that its a samsung is the biggest) but over the last 4 years i have bought to end phones that have always disapointed. So i thought i'd give the soul a go as i have a 14day phone swap option if i don't like it.
The loudspeaker is terrible but the handset volume doesnt seem to be a problem for myself.
The functions and build qaulity of the soul are excellent, the camera is better then most digital camera's bought 2 yrs ago, and it has some very nice small touches added in. I have a 4gig card in mine so it also double's up as a walkman which i like. (most phone's ony support 2gig)
But you can't watch video's on it from your t.v????? Try buying a digital video camera. what you have in your hand is a phone not a camera just watch the video's on your p.c its not that difficult.
prob not the handset for everybody but definately worth considering, if your not wanting it for the loudspeaker or the ability to sit in your front room watching video's from your phone on you t.v. (isnt that why phones have colour screens nowerdays?)

samsung has to get the basic right before attempting doing anything fancy.
Volume is too low!!! Can't hear a word! Is this a bug? should i exchange this with another phone? any recommendations?

Got this phone as upgrade. Really hate this phone. Don't know if this is a bug but it turns itself off while being on the phone for 10 minutes.
No TV out so can't watch movie clip or picture i took on a trip.
I give this a 0 out of 1000. Thumbs down all the way..

Yes you can turn T9 off Permantantly,
you can do it by Pressing and Holding * whilst in text mode
Or you can
Press options
Scroll down to 9,Input Options
Scroll down to 4,Abc
now ether way you have turned T9 off Permantantly

I got this phone as a free upgrade, in many ways I prefer my old E900. The u900 is larger and bulkier. You cant turn off the predictive text permanently! Aghhh! The call volume isnt great but overall its a decent phone.
Considering sending it back and getting a new E900 though!
