i was just wondering whether the USB post for the X660 is on the bottom of side? thanks..
Hi, I've downloaded the Samsung PC Studio PIMS and File Manager from the website and now I'm able to upload images and vids from my phone to PC. But I'm unable to transfer anything from PC to phone. Can someone please tell me how to go about doing it? Thanks!
Yes Jamster should be able to support your x660, because I've gotten 5 ringtones from there already.
If you want to be sure just go to the compatibility section in the site, select your model (x660), then check if it's compatible with mp3 ringtones. It should say yes.
But instead of mp3 ringtones they call it realtones or whatever.
Hope this helps.
It seems like not many websites at the moment support mp3 ringtones for the x660 to download.
One particular site that I use is www.jamster.com, or www.jamster.com.au if you're in Australia like me.
The infrared doesn't work with other phones does it? I've tried it several times but it doesn't work. I have no idea why.
I don't know why it says on the description in the store it can hold MP3 Ringtones but it can't hold files bigger than 100kbs. What does it mean? Does it mean Realtones? Because I thought MP3 Ringtones meant full tracks.
Please answer thanks.
I also don't think this phone is worth it. The infrared does not work and hardly any good games work with it. And the lack of an MP3 player. I'd rather have the Samsung E350. It's around the same price and it's a lot better.
For what I paid for this phone, RRP, I love it, I didn’t have any problem with the irda connection, although giving me the software in the box would have been nice, instead of having to download from the Samsung web site.
I can transfer images and mp3’s via irda, I would have like to send larger that 100k files though, and Samsung should including the USB cable, instead on making you buy it.
Ringtones created in itunes sound great and are simple to get up and running.
Camera is what I expected for a phone at this price, very average, but the movie capability makes up for it.
All-in-all I think great value for money.
Oh yerr, it would have been nice to be able to change the pix on the external display.
try to go to JUNREX or AUDIONET Ayala or SM,they are the expert on samsung phones. They will install asian firmware or they just change the chip board for free if it is still within the warranty period.
I acquired my x660 last may in Globe telecom its free if u get a line. what a stupid things if u can't use your infrared maybe you don't have the right software... but i have a big big problem which even the samsung company can't answer my querry.. i already install the PIMS Studio II all the software for x660.. i can connect through infra red port and the worst thing is the phone is locked it requires password i tried the 8 zeros but it doesn't work i went to globe customer service and they refer me to samsung service center and i went there.. the staff can't answer my querry i even brought my notebook to show them and the only thing they say to me is its either the globe telecom or the samsung china reformat x660 my gosh.... some kinda waste of time going to their offices....... did somebody experienced the same thing please do help me if u get the password....
Could someone plz give me some sites where i can download mp3 ringtones for my samsung X660? i cant seem to find any, thanks
to get ur infrared works properly
instal The Samsung PC Studio II 2.0 PIMS & File Manager
The Samsung PC Studio II 2.0 PIMS & File Manager folder is added automatically to the Program Files folder when Samsung PC Studio II 2.0 PIMS & File Manager is installed.
COM1 is the default port when Samsung PC Studio II 2.0 PIMS & File Manager is started IrDA is shown as an option if available.
(The Windows 2000 should first be updated with windows Service pack 3 for IrDA support.)
just try it

so if any one have any good solution for this problem he /she is welcome
there is no such thing as dumb phone but only dumb users i pressume basing on some complaint about the infra red.
I have had my cellphone for 2 days, and I can use the infrared port for upload and download images, mp3 ringtones, applications an everything from the phone to my laptop without a problem.
I think that the people that is complaing have no idea of what they can do with the phone, or are simply to dumb to use this phone.
The phone is small, the pictures are OK for a phone it's price (if you want a 10mega pixels picture buy a camera).
The only thing that I dislike is that I cannot have the vibration mode and the melody at the same time, you can have: vibration, melody, and vibration THEN melody, but I will find my way to live with that.
Anyway my rate (so far) is an 8.5/10.
I love my little x660, it lets me take pretty pics and videos, send them off as MMS, I can even get cool mp3 ringtones and use animated screensavers as phone background! Now how cool is that! So everytime I flip open my fone I got something nice to look at.
The external LCD is a bonus, Samsung really pampers their customers with this entry level phone that has almost mid-range features. So for the price, it's a great buy.
I highly recommend this phone!
if you have read the reviews of others and think its not a good phone then try looking at other ones...n i agree with that person who said just send sms and talk for gods sake... whats with people who need all this super smart stuff. arnt phones orignally designed to talk on them not have the internet, play games, bluetooth, infrared, and all that mumbo jumbo...DOES IT REALLY MATTER?
