I dont know anything about any microphone controller, but u can try to connect the handsfree and when the problem resist - go to your local dealer/service, maybe there`s a problem in the phone itself. And yes - the phone could not copy contacts to sim... another annoying thing about the x660.

1. Is it possible to modify the Samsung X660 software and remove the 95Kb file size limit?
2. Is it possible for Samsung to make an MP3 Player for X660, and by Software Update we can get it and be able to listen to mp3 ?
Please email me with the answer (sorcerer.address@gmail.com)
THanks, Sorcerer

I have this phone for about 3 months now and as of my experience i can send and recieved namecards, contacts, memo, schedules and calendars to new models of nokias, sony ericsson and mostly to samsung phone thru infra red. In my phone there are two options for the infra red, one is to connect to pc and the other is connect with other phones.
With regards to call quality, x660 is exceptional with no cut-off, voice can be heard loud and clear even if you whispher. Most of all the speaker phone is very usable and always clear and loud.

apparently the infra red port cannot be used to send/receive images from other mobiles.

reply to jet - samsung recommend that for any of their handsets the initial charge be 16 hours to ensure the maximum standby/talk-time limits can be reached. of course you can charge as much as you want but this could affect you future battery life.
hope this helps :)

Just forget everything you heard about this phone; it's just GREAT! Now, let's have a closer look to advantages(+) and disadvantages(-); and also neutrals(o):
(Please evaluate an equipment considering its price!)
+ Price
+ Display quality
+ Extra fast operation speed and no bugs
+ Customization
+ SMS and Phonebook capacities
+ Design (subjective of course)
+ Toughness; rigid
+ Lightweight and small
+ Second display
+ Battery life (up to 4-5 days in practice!)
+ Software (there are many options-send sms to group; recent receipents etc-; and it has all necessary features such as chronometer and countdown...)
+ Voice memo
o 9 mb memory
o Camera and video quality
o 40 polyphonic
- 100 kb mp3 limit (100 kb is enough for a ringtone but it's still annoying)
- 15 sec video limit and 2 min voice rec. limit (i do not care about camera options)
Above all; it's a great phone for this price. Design is perfect in my opinion and phone is really though.

This phone is very nice looking. My mates said that this unit is very attractive even though they have a high end phones. I got one already and I have used an animated pictures.gif as a wallpaper in full screen.
To those who has a problem on IR, when you install the software in your pc, you have to open the PC II file manager software, then go to setup then choose the settings. After that you have to configure the port, the default port would be com 1 and pls choose infra red when you see a drop down arrow. After that press the resetup button on the software, then there you are, your phone will be connected to your computer.
For phone to phone connection using IR, I have managed to connect my phone to Nokia 3200 and 6230 without any problem. I have sent my contacts, namecard, calendar and memos to those phones using Infa Red.
Regarding using mp3 as a ringtone and alarm tones, I have managed to compressed the size of the mp3 song from 4-6 mb to 300-600 kb using the dB Power Amp Music Converter but the phone only accepts 100 kb of size for all files including mp3, so i edited the song using Adobe Audition software 1.5 and I managed to upload 40-50 seconds long mp3 song clip to my phone. I already have 10 mp3 song in my phone, each has a 93-100 kb file size. Those were the hard parts but you will learn from there how to manage your phone and edit a song. Maybe this process may be hard for some but fun for me. Anyway you don't need a full length mp3 song for your ringtone because normally you dont have to finish the whole song before you answer your phone otherwise you will have a missed call.
That is all folks.
