Hi xxccvv
you can easily send mp3 files to your memory card by setting the phone as a mass storage device. Your phone will become a flash drive. Just drop all your mp3 files into the correct folder, which is "Music".

Hi Nell,
I am sad to hear about this...I don't understand why Samsung had to leave out EDGE for our region.
I guess I'll just have to get a new phone with 3G then hehehehe..maybe in a few months time

Hi Sherry
I have sent mp3 files to Motorola v360 and also send a small snippet of video in mp4 format to my brother's K750i before. So the answer is yes!

Yes, you can play both mp3 and mp4 files straight from the memory. If you have read my previous posting, I also mentioned that mp3 files with bitrates higher than 160 will not play from the card. You will need to move them over to the phone memory.
You can play mp3 files from both the phone memory or the memory card.
I have not encountered any problem with bluetooth connections. My fren's phone can detect my presence pretty fast using Bluetooth.
As for the screen quality, it is very very nice. Even my fren who uses a SE750i thinks x700's screen is better. Its bright and it gives very good details of photos that I have. So I think Curious could be looking at a faulty unit. My screen is not dull and yellowish at all.
I do admit that the recording function is not good. Picture taking is much better.

you mentioned the screen is very nice.. yet I have tested 1 and found it to be yellowish and dull.. comparing it with E530, the screen is inferior.. even the video recording is worse than E530.
Maybe I saw a faulty unit?

I'm not sure if it supports 512mb because I only have a 256mb. The manual did not mention anything about this.

I have not tried EDGE because I don't have a digi line. Anyway, my friend has a digi line and he has tried it in my area before using a Nokia phone but the connection was worse than my 56k dialup. My area is known to have very bad reception.
Its quite strange now that you mentioned it. The foreign manual that I downloaded mentioned EDGE but the manual I have does did not mention anything about the EDGE at all. The net version of the manual mentioned the presence of an E icon on the screen if you have an EDGE connection. But this is not mentioned at all in the local manual.
I asked the sales guy about the EDGE feature and he told me its there. Did you see an E icon on-screen when you got connected? If you don't see it, then Samsung will need to explain why!!!

Ooops, what I meant to say about point no.4 was the 235x295 pixel setting for pictures taken horizontally will not cover the whole screen as wallpapers. Anyway, if you think about it the dimensions of the display suit pictures that are taken vertically. A horizontally taken picture may look crammed even if it covers the whole display.

I don't think it supports external softwares, maybe java downloads. Been using it for two weeks now. There are some things you all should know:
1. it does not play mp3 files straight from the memory card if the bitrate is more than 160kbps. You have to move the files with bigger bitrate to the phone or change the files to lower bitrates.
2. You cannot transfer mp3 files to the "Sound" folder, only to the "Music" folder.
3. Likewise, you can only upload images to the subfolder named "downloaded images" under the "Image" folder but not to the subfolder named "photo". The Photo subfolder is reserved for pictures taken with the camera only.
4. To make wallpapers that cover the whole screen, use the bundled software (Manage Photos)to change the pixel of the original picture to 235x295. Be aware that this pixel setting only works for pictures that are taken vertically. Haven't quite figured it out for pictures that are taken horizontally.
I'm not so fussy about the points highlighted above so I still like this phone a lot. Fell in love with the screen. My vacation pictures are displayed beautifully as wallpapers. That's one of my main criteria.

This phone is so expensive. I saw it at Singtel and it costs S$498 on a 2 year plan which is ironically the same as the D600(also S$498 2 yr plan)
Im quite disappointed about the price. It costs
more than SE 750i and does not even include the memory card. =(
