Samsung is really good. THis particular model is awsome. dont buy the flip or slide phones though they tend to brake few months down the line.

Hey i found out how to change the text message tone on SGH Z170, you have to go into settings then phone profiles then highlight normal then go options then edit and go across to the envelope icon and change 'message alert tone'
But i have a problem, for some reason it can only load sounds in midi format. Is there a way to change this?

samsung is a very nice device! and i think yours is fake thats why its not that good. Mine is absolutely work well.

How do I get Java installed in z170...I wanted to install vopium and skype on this phone but when i download it...it says invalid content?! Although vopium website supports z170. What could be the reason ?

my vibration was on and i was receiving calls alright but one time i was receiving a call and messages and the phone wasnt vibrating though vibration was on. I am just thinking if the phone is faulty or something? I might be wrong... so please advice..cheers!

The backlight dims in 10 seconds and in 5 seconds the display is gone totally as if the phone is off. But, when I press any button on the fone..it lightens up again. Is it normal or is there some fault with the phone ? I have tried all the settings..Thanks

This phone is horrible. You can't connect it to a pc, you can't do anything with it. The 3G connectivity is so slow, dial up is faster. I put it in my pocket.. and if you hit an SOS number by accident.. it'll ask you to dial. Of course, you wouldn't expect to hit the yes button, but even if you hit any other buttons APART from Green/Yes/OK.. it does not time out. As a result.. I ended up dialing SOS many times.
Would not reccommend it...
