I have this phone at the minute, I thinks its absolutely terrible.
The camera is just rubbish- pictures are always really grainy.
Its signal is really weak everywhere.
The screen's too small and doesn't look very sharp.
Its alarm clock and calendar reminders just plain don't work, or do sometimes- late- if they feel like it.
The computer connectivity suite is practically useless.
Lets see what else.... its slow to respond and type SMS and the outside screen makes whatever picture you put on it yellow-ish (its weird), oh and finally the inner screen- if you try and use a photo you take as a background it cuts the top off so you can still see a bit of the old background.
Hmph! Rant done, phone is terrible and am getting a Nokia N80 immediately upon release!

Hi guys, does n e 1 no how 2 put video files (3gp) that r larger than 6mb on this fone? the PC studio just gives the message "cannot transfer this type of file larger than 6mb" or something like that. Really irritating. thnx in advance.

thanks Bertus, it worked. seems my phone wasnt as branded as i thought it was. only got rid of some of the wallpapers and photos that i didnt want and now the start up/down screen is nicer. but still, it was worth it. thanks again

hi manged to get phone it to download sate but sotwere still doest ask to resterphone iv only use com port one and seems to b working when i look in add programs. ect.. bus still cant put any thing on to phone i gess im get littl nere cos i now now how to but phone on to download stae just still stuck :S:S:S

Alee - It could be a number of things.Follow these steps. Install ALL software from your CD.Turn Bluetooth off. Plug the USB cable into your phone and there should be a little icon on the screen to show you're connected. PLug out.Turn your phone off.Press 9 while switching your phone on.(white screen red outside screen saying DOWNLOAD) Plug cable in. Load each file into its place in the download program. There should be a button next to the download button - its to search for the port your phone is connected to. Press it. In the bottom left corner is a lot of greyd out things.The first checkbox in that list should now be available. Make sure its checked.Its to select the port your phone is connected to. Make sure all other programs are off.Including virus scans etc. Press Download. I hope this helps. Good luck!

hi guys. can anyone kindly tell me how to make a wallpaper fullscreen? always when i set my own picture as wallpaper, the image isnt full screen on the wallpaper and there is still some white empty patch on the top. thanks in advance.

can any one help i carnt seem to tranfur files frm pc to phone i have came cable lights on red and when i connect phone little icon on phone comes on.. but when i load up softwear i doest ask me to resgester my phone.. :S:S any help what should i do should i format my phone or some thing cos i carnt seem to download anything to my phone ect and i realy want to any help will b gr8t cos i want put music on it.. HELP PLEASE

Bertus, im not sure if you will be able to help me with this, but i followed all the instructions on the website to flash my phone, but after pressing download in Multiloader, nothing happened. i unpacked the firmware and located the files and everything but nothing happened after i pressed the download button. would you know the reason why?

You have to register and login to www.samsungseriez.com On your left there will be a table listing stuff "Menu Principal" (probably meaning Main Menu. Under that you click on FIRMWARES and then on Firmware Z500. It will give you a list of many different firmwares (from Vodafone to O2 etc.) The one I used (which is totally unbranded) is at the bottom called Z500REX3.1. Its a big file (about 22mb) so I hope you have ADSL or something. Hope you succeed. :-)

Here is a geat website with over 400 FREE java games and programs for the z500 http://www.getjar.com/software/SGH_Z500/ You can browse this on your PC and when you see a game you want, you click on it and it will give you a code you type in when browsing wap.GetJar.com (click on quick download).

I found a way to upload Java apps. & games onto the z500!
Go to http://www.community24.net/ota.php on your PC.You can upload your .jar file there and it will give you a URL that you can type into your phone's browser to download that game! Simple.

Here is a link to where you can find instructions on how to flash your phone. http://www.mobile-review.com/f...brid&t=34138 I used Z500REX3.1 firmware(22MB) . I downloaded it from www.samsungseriez.com (a spanish website - and you have to register - hectic). Please note that you do this at your OWN RISK! As you will see on the forum posted above, some people messed up their phones by trying this without being clued up 100%! Also you need to write down all your network settings (Vlive, internet, sms, mms) and back up your phone book and ringtones etc. so you can put it in after your phone has been flashed. Please make sure you understand everything before attempting this.(I'm sure your warranty will not cover this! ;-)

Hi there! I have succsesfully flashed my Z500 and it now has unbranded original firmware on. Its great! Its loader, reception and Bleutooth seems better too. It DOESN"T support THEMES though, but the user interface is beautifully done in Blue and its got really cool animations when powering the phone up or down.Even the animations on the small LCD is much prettier! All the Vlive! services still work (setting I manually put in). I don't understand why Vodafone put their crap on it in the first place...we already signed the contract or bought the phone...why advertise on your phone???? Anyway, all and all a GREAT phone.

can anyone help????
Had this phone for 6 months now and although it's been great all of a sudden my battery life has no life....... on Vodafone and at the beggining i took it of the 3g network that helped 6 months ago but now all i have to do is send 2 texts and i lose power anyone else having this problem or has mine just died!
