Great phone except:
- Ringtone volume is low, need improvement on speakers...often missed calls
- Can manage contact through Outlook, Outlook express and phone only, lack of other options or format
- bluetooth does not support automatic on...need to "connect" everytime
- default system files (wallpaper, sound) cannot delete for space saving
- can display name for 12 characters only, though u may input more characters but still u cannot see it elsewhere

Otherwise, this phone is PERFECT

Is there any way of increasing the number of contacts on the phone. It only allows 1,000 contacts at the moment.

Got the Samsung Z54OV on Vodacom Vodafone live. Have a problem with MMS, when receiving a video clip on MMS in GPRS area, it seems to convert the 3gp video file to a gif animated file and a drm sound file!! Can you believe it? In 3G reception it comes through fine as a 3gp file. Pics also, resizing of pics, poor quality. But only in GPRS reception. Can anyone tell me if they have had this? Or a solution to my problem? Will appreciate. Otherwise great phone!!

i dont know what to do my mobile (z540) have liquid damage and it does'nt want to switch on. the light goes on and shows me "samsung z540" then dies again then it switches on and off by it self. and it doesnt wanna charge. they say that the phone is reliable but i cant see that it is. can u plz come back to me as SOON AS POSSIBLE PLEASE!!!

I just got the phone today and so far I am pretty pleased with it. Although it says in the review that the plastic material feels like metal, it is not so. This phone feels very plastic. However, it is very solidly built and I have no doubts that it will last. I also find the external stereo speakers to be very good. There is a lag of roughly 3 secs when starting the camera. The biggest dissapointment is the lack of a memory slot. This is a phone that is good but could have been the best.

Anyone knows how to turn off the auto answer? Now when I flip open the phone it answers automatically but I don't want that.

hi there..does anybody know how to change the color theme for the phone? and also how to change the font size for messaging? the font size is far too big for me..pls help !

as good as any other!
no other mobile has such a huge screen with the option of back ground and wrting style
very low memory!
voice a bit low playing music!
if the 2 mentioned weakneeses weren't there, it would make this the best in the market!!!!!!!!!!!!!

erm.. where should start.. i see.. i shall start frm the design..

design- great, interesting, cool design..
functions- this is the part i like..
-if avalable, infrared should not be absent.
-same goes to the card slot.. but anyway.. if a phone is built with everything, there is no point..
-phone camera's MP can be higher so that buyers can be satisfied..
-anyway, i love this phone.. and i'm waiting for it.

its somehow more uglier than the z510 simliar in aspects but people will be attracted to the z510 through the feel and look of it

What program does everybody use to connect their z540 to their computer with Bluetooth? I tried BlueSoleil and can pair the phone, but after that I can't do anything. Also, why when I turn Bluetooth on on my phone does it say "No Bluetooth Address!! Set the BD address or it will do the wrong action."? How do I set the address? When u finish coping contects to ur phone
go to the options of contects on the phone because u cant put pic ID on a contect on SIM
in the option go to edit then u will know what to do.

if you go to contacts then select copy all it'll give you the option to copy your contact to either the phone or sim. Does anyone know how to select download tones for text alerts?

Hi, does this phone have the function to copy contacts from phone back to sim? in the event that we're changing phone, how should we retain all our contacts if they're stuck in the phone?

Hi ppl, just wondering if anyone know how to set pics to the CALLER ID function besides copying all sim card's contacts over to phone memory??(that's the only way that i know) thanks in advance & greetings from the sunny island SINGAPORE!!

I took the phone for the large display, dissapointed, movie clips does not utilise the full display. The display is a waste, only fully utilised when taking photos. Bluetooth: can only BT one at a time, not like D600 where youn can select 1 or multi or selected. Movie qaulity bad when played on PC, Contacts scrolling not possible. Otherwise a nice phone.

Any idea what file formats are supported for message alert tone / special tone? I can set an mp3 for regular ringtones but not message alert tone.

This is truly the best phone i have ever owned, takes some getting used to but is user friendly. My only gripe is that the bluetooth connection is not totally compatable to the Nokia CK-7W car hands free kit, sometimes it dosn't connect and the person you call says they can hear their own voice in the backround. Other than that its a really great phone, just love the size and weight.
