Looks nice. Has nice extra's. I think it's gonna sell good at the european market. But I just heard rumours about a new samsung phone with at least a 7MP camera at the end of this year. I can't believe that's true, but if anyone could tell me more, let me know please.

Well you got bluetooth, mms, email and a memory card, I think if all those failed you wouldnt be worried about infrared.

Its better to have multiple types of connections just in case one fails. I think infared can come in handy at times especially when you are trying to print a picture from your phone at the quick photo thing at Wal-mart or so...

Nokia, Samsung & IrDA
=====================
I think that IrDA is still common and very useful. Bluetooth is definatelly the way to go, but infrared is still a great means of file-sharing, especially P2P.
Now, the argument was raised that Nokia, as "competitor", is issuing all phones with IrDA. Very true for most, but not all models, yet I hardly see the two companies clash.
I think that Nokia & Samsung are moving on completely separate levels in development and implementation of their mobiles.
Both have separate Markets, with the GSM/European Market belonging to Nokia, and Samsung the South-Mid Asia & Pacific Region.
I see the competition under these groups:
Nokia vs. Sony Ericsson vs. Motorola (mainly Europe/America/Pacific)
Samsung vs. LG (CYON) vs. BenQ-Siemens (mainly Korea/Taiwan/China)
SHARP vs. Toshiba vs. Sanyo (mainly Japan/Pacific)
So if you compare brands already, compare them as in these groups! Then we're talking.
