I may not own a samsung Z720.Wats with HSDPA?Is it is alot faster than a 3g service?
The design may be a little "same old". But,
I was impressed that samsung could slim down a 3g phone to soo thin and yet retain a good 3mp camera and a whole lot of functions.
There's one advice to phone buyers. Never buy a phone for it's music player. As for me, I own my own samsung mp3 player. The quality rocks and it's better than over-advertised i-pods. Anyway, my point is to keep your music players and mobile phone seperate. That's only an opinion!

it's kinda freaky why samsung releasing the Ultra range with mostly old tech like USB1.1, BT1.2... why they always keep something for the future and samgsung supporters can't enjoy the max?
so many Q and no A...... :(

Samsung is playing us all man. Next thing I know they will release it after a few months or so and call it a differnt model. WTF.

Less on board memory than D900, no flash !
Why can't Samsung just bring one new model out where they don't remove the important features of earlier models ? D900 is almost my ideal phone but no 3G.

These are the phones that supports quadband plus UMTS. I dont know why the rest of the 3G phones are triband.
Nokia N80/N71/N73/E61, i-mate JASJAM, O2 XDA Trion/XDA Exec,Qtek 9600,BlackBerry 8707v etc

Is there any phone that happens to be quad-band and 3G? I would really like to use this phone on the Cingular network but it looks like it doesn't do 850Mhz or is there a mistake and it does quad-band GSM like the D900 plus 3G?

I think you are talking about Ultra Edition 13.5 “Joy, Top of the class”. That looks exactly like D900..but 3G-no HSPDA. who knows maybe Samsung will add it later with a different name.No idea why they are flooding their profile with similar models.
@Alissa
HSDPA stands for High Speed Downlink Packet Access with speed varying from 1.8Mbps to 3.6mbps where as 3G is 384kbps.
@Correction.
You are right. I didnt notice that.My apologies.
...and about Samsung battery...not sure whats the technical problem in making a thin 1000mAH or higher mAh battery. There might be something.all this thin Samsungs has 630mAh-850mAh...not good enough for heavy use.Anyone knows?

Many people are posting about similarities in models. So I thought about making a comparison.
SAMSUNG:
Bar phones:
It seems Samsung is not interteste in bar phones..I dont like them either. Clam shell and sliders has many advantages..
1. Z150
2. C130 & C240 , x630---I would perefer to put them in the same design catagory..nothing great.
3. i300, i300x & i310----they all are hard disc music phone and has a distictive look from the rest.
4. x820 & z370.----z370 is 3G version of x820, May God and Samsung know why them name it like that.
Card phones:
Interestingly this is a new segment started by Samsung "calculator" phone P300..and now we have LG KG99 (http://www.slashphone.com/89/4734.html) and HTC "Muse" looks pretey much same but i dont know the dimensions.
1.P300 "calculator" phone. & P310.
Sliders:
1. D500, D510, D600, E860, E370, S400i, Z350, Z400, P200 are all different versions of D500.
2. D520, D800, D720, Z550----looks different from D500 and has no chuncky base
3. D820, D840, D870, D900 and now Z720 has a little chucky base at the bottom.
4. E900---slider with touch sensative buttons..dont tell me this looks like other samsungs.
Clam Shells:
1. D830 & Z620.---both wiht small out display. Z620 is 3G version of D830.
2. S401i, S500i, E500, E380, D780 & E780, ZV50, ZV40, Z560, Z600, Z520, Z330, Z310, X500, X680, X300, E770, E360, ZV30,--let me put them in all in same design catergory.
3. D810, Z510 & Z540---thin and flat, they look all same and pretty close to RAZR.
4. E870---this is different.
5. X210, X160, X200, X150---flip wiht no external screen
6. P850 & Z700----calm sheel with Swivel design screen but thick
7. Z720 ---calm sheel with Swivel design screen but thin and different look
8. D300 ----this is more like N93 kind with screen that opne both ways.
9. P900, P910 & P920 calmshell with Swivel horizontal screen design.
Business phone with QWERTY Keyboard:
1. i320
So you got approx 19 types of designs from Samsung.
---------------------------------------------
MOTOROLA:
When you look at the mto page..aparently it look like waoo they have so many diffenrt diesgn..but well people they are all old....for last 2 yaers they only released different variations of RAZR, SLVR, PBELs.
Bar phones:
1. SLVR L7, L6. L2
2. C118, C168, C257, E1120, E770, W208.and ROCK E1.looks all same.
3. C139, C261, E1060, and ROKR E2..lokks same wiht round finish
Sliders:
Moto is not really into sliders.
1. A732
2. RIZR..which is a RAZR in slider format.
Clam Shells:
..all you can talk about RAZR here
1. RAZR V3, V3i, V3x, RAZR V3xx, RAZR Maxx, E1070.
2. PEBL U6 and its variations.
3. W220, W375, KRZR K1-----slim razr versions
4. A720 and A7200--touch screen
5. and the rest of the clamshells
Business phone with QWERTY Keyboard:
1. Q
So you got approx 11 types of designs from Motorolla.
---------------------------------------------
SONY-ERICSSON
Bar phones:
thats what they do.
1. D750, K750, W800, W810, W700, K608, K610, K510, V630, K618....all look same
2. T290, J200, K300, J300, J210, J220, J230, ...all same
3. K600 and V600 has got a resctangular shape.
4. K790,& K800
Clam Shells:
1. old X800 and its variations
2. Z520, Z300, Z530, W300, Z525, Z550, Z710, W710..and latest Z610 which is actually same model with a glosy mirror outer finish and hiddene display.
Sliders:
1. W850
2. W900, W550 and W600----Swivel screen
Business phone with QWERTY Keyboard:
1. P900 and its variations
2. M600, M608 & W950 has the same look but no QWERTY Keyboard
So you got approx 10 types of designs from Motorolla.
---------------------------------------------
NOKIA:
Bar phone:
Thats where they are best at..no offence but all there bar phones looks same...cant really catagorise
Clam Shells:
1. 6101, 6060, 6103, 6125, 6131, 6136..all same..some even wiht ugly antena.
2. 2652
3. N90----Swivel design screen
4. N71--monster
5. N92 and N93---flips open both side
6. 7370
Sliders:
1. 6111--this is the cutest one...but big problem..wiht "white screen"
2. 8800--unique.
3. N91--I will keep this Brick separate..nothi9ng looks same as this monster.
4. 6270, 6280, 6282---pretty much same
5. N80---different design and only nokia that I liked.
Business phone with QWERTY Keyboard:
1. E61
So you got approx 13 types of designs from Nokia.
---------------------------------------------
CONCLUTION:
All new Samsungs are black, that doesnt mean they are all same. They launch way too many phones at a time and their NAMING system is BIG time messed up. Thats why it looks like 'oh my god why there are so many same looking phones'....if you looks closely..its not true. Motorola RAZR has 10 different versions...do you see them in motorola page..NO you just see V3 and V3i. and you feel happy. Everyone is reclycling their old models.
Sorry I took the whole page.
