i just had this phone just over the year the handset it self is over heating and the battery suddenly drops their support is very poor it is really a waste of money investing on samsung products.

I've had this phone 16months now. Recently this signal strength has just weakened, wherever the phone is, and so it breaks up when you are on the phone and sometimes just hangs up. The charger slot cover has become lose because I've used it so many times so it does not stay in and is slightly annoying.
THe dictionary in predictive texts does not store your added words for very long, i would guess about 2 days which really annoyed me.
I do like the slide, and how it locks and unlocks when you slide it. The phone is quite slick, and nice and fits in the pocket easily. It is pretty small when it is not slid out.
Nice phone, but it has failed me recently so i've had to go back to an old nokia in the meantime till I get a new phone. I think i'll go back to the nokia's or sony ericcson's as I didn't have these problems with them.

i so agree with Nik. i own this phone for less half a year and the phone just dead on me a week ago, and i'm happily using my SE K810i at the moment. initial symptoms were failure of camera and after that the lights starts going crazy AND i can't even tell whether my phone was on the next day. 3 of my other friends who own this same phone share the same fate as me. i wonder is it something wrong with the hardware with this model or what. anyway, i will not spend my money on another samsung phone ever again, this phone sucks big time!

Does this phone has the 'vivid'option(3d sms) and can i select my own MP3 as a sms tone?

I have had this phone now for about 6 months and its not that bad. At the end of the day it works well as a phone. Camera is not very good but I use a phone for pictures so I don't care about this feature. The battery life is really good, and so far I have had no problems with the phone (unlike sony ericssons and nokias that constantly freeze on you and reboot when least expected). 9/10

This phone sucks, however looks nice and features are really amazing it does not work. I both it couple of monts ago and:
battery live kills me - one day
it goes to silente mode you never know and does not ringing (calls and alarms),
louspeaker also get off of cold outside and you are ouside,
camera - very pure
and what is worse kesy - no bluetooth is working with> I tested SE, Plantronics, Motorola, Samsung - a lot of drops and quality very bad

SOMEONE PLS HELP ME ME ME. i just bought the phone about 6 hours ago.
when i pressed on, the screen and the colourful things ran on the screeen( normal) but it then when to this little message, six pages long, but like codes on it. it said press '0' to exit. i pressed and it came to this window saying 'upload data to PC'. i tried pressing all the buttons on the phone and it kept showing this window. i also tried to off and on it. same thing happen. HELP ME!!!

i have this phone for about 6 months now, i have no problem with its battery, i love the camera because of its good resolution. im just sad because there is only limited message alert tones and there is no themes for this unit..help pls, u think nokia 6120 is better than this phone?

The battery started to get warmed within 3 minutes of usage, I guessed this is still an ongoing problem cos I just gotten mine 1 week ago. Of cos, after using cellphone for so many years, I have the 'feel' that this phone does get heated up easily than other models that I had used before. One thing 'special' about this phone is when charging the LCD screen won't dim off, so when you are charging at night beside your bed, you will have a 'lighting' effect. I love samsung phones but I am quite disappointed with this model.
As for U700, be prepared to get used to the sensitive touch screen if you intend to buy one.

got this phone the othr day. i dnt c all the fuss...its a gr8 PHONE!! coz thats wat it is, a phone...not a miricle machine. has an alright camera, but thats what i have a real digital camera 4. mp3 is ok, but thats wat i have an ipod 4. cute little design...very light weight, unlike my old chunky n80. end of the day...it is a nice little phone..i really like it :)

to reduce consumption, dont use 3g unless surfing or video call. more standby time on gsm/gprs mode. heat still ok as long as does not explode :)

Hi, i have this phone. The battery life is poor!!
Does anyone know how to turn the phone to fully silent? I have put the silent profile, and even after sending a text. When the balance comes up, there will be a noise coming off the phone.

i just had this fone for 4 days now and the only problem is the heating of the back of the fone especially if ur into voice calls more than text. The fone is nice but the only disadvantage is the battery... i like surfing the net thru this fone. I read the manual but does not state how many hours is the inital charge. shoot me an email if u have info on this. im beginning to regret this fone..
