after ages of trying i got it to connect via bluetooth to my pc. have to run the DUN connection. not ideal but better than nothing. i downloaded some mp4 short videos but it wont transfer them to the phone. it runs the transfer process but then says 'transfer failed' after a couple of minutes. it works fine with music though

I bought the fone and its great! transferring photos is simple, just save them to the memory card ,and if you dont or can't find a micro sd reader it supplies you with a normal sd adapter. with xp just then connect it. it will say external drive found. with all your files you can do what you like! simple!

if your pc has no memory card slot then you can get a memory card adaptor for it for about 20 euro and it's probably the cheapest and easiest way to transfer photos and music back and forth between your phone and your pc.

I bought this phone about a month ago, however there is no USB cable with it and I didn't fancy spending another €50 for one so I decided on a bluetooth USB adapter. I paired my pc with my phone and transferred some data to my pc, but I would like to know how to transfer music from my pc to my phone. Can anyone help?
Also a 1GB memory card works perfectly with this phone.

i rang up sharp about it and they said that they only guaranteed up to a 512mb card to work and no higher. so basically no, but i haven't tried a 1gb so maybe there's hope.

Love my phone, but last week it refused to respond to the keypad, I took out the battery to reset but then it refused to wake up at all. Dropped it into my local Vodafone shop for repair on Friday,it was back on Wednesday which is impressive, but they had found no fault and only done a firmwear update. Some of my saved data was gone but nothing major. I hope it stays fixed. Works fine with a data cable, MP3's are great, the little camera impresses me every time (and I have two digi SLR's.) Oh, just discovered it seems to charge via USB.

What country are you in? Surely there's some sort of laws saying you can return the product if it's not doing what you wanted it to do etc? Must be able to at least EXCHANGE for something else, if you can't get a full refund. Check it out.

I just bought this phone yesterday, and I am extremely disappointed. I previously had the Motorola E770v which has all of the same features, but it got water damage and didn't work properly, so I decided to get a new phone. Since the Sharp had all the same features and was 30 bucks cheaper, I decided to take a chance. However, when I got home I realized that there was no USB cable included and the one I had for my Motorola did not work. Went back to Vodafone, and they said that it wasn't out yet and for me to buy a bluetooth USB adapter. I did which now cost me another 40 bucks, and get home again, and it won't download more than one music file on my computer. It said memory is full (which it isn't) and I tried like 10 times. I asked Vodafone if I could return it, but they said no. So, now I am stuck with a phone I don't want just cause I tried to save money but ended up spending more. I should have gotten my motorola back.

My turn to ask a question :)
On the Vodafone NZ website, it lists "Colour Backlights" as a Feature, saying "Set your screen backlighting to different colours for when friends, family or work call". I can't find how to change any backlight colours. Anyone know how to do it? Or is Vodafone mistaken? They said this about the GX15 too (my previous phone) but I could never work that out either!

Battery life: I have to recharge about every 3 days. I thought this was pretty poor after my very first cellphone could last a week - but I now figure, hey, what's so hard about charging it :) I guess I muck around with it a lot more too though.
Secret Data: You can set tasks, contacts etc as "Secret" - I think so someone else looking at your phone can't see them. "Show Secret Data" effectively unlocks it all, so you can see them again (not sure how many things you can hide though).
