Guys i have a problem .. can anyone send me the instructions for a firmware upgrade. cause i destroyed my phones soft .. and i really need it. i found it on the net . but it costs .. so .. please .. if anyone bought it .. please send it to me :)) puffy_Puff_Smokey@yahoo.com . 10x

yea, you can change your mp3 file to another file type like aac. but i find that the quality is not as good as mp3 (like it doesnt sounds as clear and crisp). this phone's battery is quite good, i am using it as an mp3 player,however, its a phone...dont expect it to be too great with listening to mp3s and watching movies.

to those who hav problems wit regard to mp3 [ illegal or anything not playable ] . jus convert ur music files to mp3LAME or aac using dbpowerAMP music converter . then transfer to miniSD , then u can listen . or put to phone memory for ringtone .

i mean obviously buy a sepearte mp3, the fone battery cant last dat long, buy any pmp or ipod video where u can c pics , listen music , n watch videos . n psp aint dat gd, as i hav 1, but there is 1 version[ the white ] which hav wi-fi so u can connect to web easily , but again max for psp is 2gb

oh oops, i forgot the mp3 player function and the ringtone function is totally different. Ok another question do you think i should use this phone as a mp3 player or instead buy a ipod/MD/PSP?

why do you need to know? do you let your phone ring for 3 minutes before picking it up so it can play the whole song?

hmm then what is the max size of mp3 ringtone you can put on the jap version? because i might ask my gf to buy a bigger sd card and those sharp earphones to use as a mp3 player(but still thinking).

1) jap version (the one i have) has backlight for the keypad but rather weak
2) with jap version, you can use mp3 ringtones bigger than 3mb. mine right now is 3.9 mb
3) an illegal mp3 is one where you use bt or just download from the internet. a legal one on the other hand is one where you download from a paid online source. the phone can tell the difference and will only let you put the legal one as ringtone

hmm my gf just brought my one from hk, its the jap version, so that means i can just transfer a .mp3 file into it with no problem?

video is either CIF or QCIF, max depends on mem card. n thru miniSD adaptor to transfer

the SX firmware does not allow u to use mp3 as ringtone, so u must rather convert ur mp3 file to aac or mp4 . the jap firmware is fine, jus put ur mp3[less than 3mb] to phone memory

mik, i dont understand, a mp3 file isnt illegal?(or am i misunderstanding you?) and how does inserting another type of file (extension) first then putting a .mp3 work?

you can use mp3s as ringtones however since all sharp phones dont allow you to place an illegal downloaded file as ringtone, you'll have to insert a legal file into the phone to trick it first

i guess it doesnt read .mp3 extensions meaning that it will read another type of file extension to work as a mp3 ringtone?

hey guys i've finally got the orange sx313...
lets clear up some things
- mp3 ringtones cannot be used as it says it's an illegal file. you have to use another way to trick the phone
- mp3 ringtones can be more than 3mb. i have one right now thats 4mb and it works
- it doesnt have flash on the camera which sucks
