Hi, I have problems to put mp3 aac and mp4 files on the 705SH. After formatting the SD card with the phone, I can see at least the files on the phone, but they have a wrong format. What might be the reason?

i'm disapointed..because i'm a big fan o Sharp camera's and i expected that the next phone that they will bring on the market will be a 5mpx one with a real Flash on it..to beat n95..and any other 5mpx phone brand out there....i'm just waiting for that day...:(...

I canīt use mp3 files with this phone. Iīve tried with the Sharp software and saving directly in the microSD card. The only way I found is to convert to m4a file with iTunes. Who had this same problem?

wow, its been a long while and no unlock mechanism has surfaced for these in all this time... mine has become a very pretty and pristine paperweight on my desk.
i guess it would be too easy if this phone could just be flashed w/ the FW from the SX663 version to get it unlocked? i'm starting to despair after this amount of time, especially since Softbank has now taken over Vodafones JP interests..
:(

To anyone who has the sx633. How easy is it to upload mp3 music files to the phone? And can you use it as a ringtone or do you have to trim the size down first before you can use it as a mp3 file ringtone?

matthew, you can change it by pressing the upper-right button - the one above 3.
i have that phone and it's great - the only problem i have is that nobody can take off my simlock here, in poland.. guess i have to wait.

Ive heard rumours that this phone requires a DRM (digital rights management)wrapped MP3/MP4 before it will allow you to assign the file as a ringtone. This Means that you have to buy the Mp3 or MP4 from your carrier before you can assgn the tone to be a ringtone .....sucky!

I am so far unable to use .m4a/.aac files as ringtones on my Japanese 705SH. I've tried files under 300 kb, on the phone memory and on the card memory, still nothing. Suggestions, or am I screwed?

too bad that this phone is only a 2 megapixels phone with a CMOS camera lens.... if its a 3 megapixels with a CCD lens and key buttons like 903sh, i will definitely consider this phone.....but i dun like HK's SX633 smartone-vodafone fw....coz SV really suck at making fws

To the reviewer above, you obviously posted more than once. Get a life and stop posting garbage reviews. You are obviously bitter that you could not even get your hands on this phone to review it. Spare reviewers your brainless comments.
Now for a review of the phone from an actual owner/user:
I have the SX633 SmartTone Vodaphone. It's pretty much the same as the 705 but with different firmware to accomodate language.
The UI is somewhat complicated to use at first but with all Sharp phones, it really takes some getting use to and changing the UI is not something Sharp has planned anytime soon.
Despite the difficult UI, the sound quality of the phone is amazing. It's crisp, clear...I was simply amazed this mobile could play my tunes better than some of my MP3 cell phones. I have yet to run a movie on this phone so I aplogize I have no comments for that feature as of yet...
The screen, as usual, is brilliant. The small screen in the front of the phone is somewhat useless though as it is often quite difficult to see the little icons and lettering for Caller I.D. If this is Sharp's way of implementing design improvement or change for their line of cell phones, it does not win me over at all. The small screen at the front is definitly not a value-added benefit. Perhaps it would be better to remove the front screen to bring down the price a little...
Portability - the Sharp 705/SX633 is convenient to carry around (this is obvious). The 2megapixel camera was a fair trade off to slim down its size. Besides, at 2 megapixels, it is good enough to take decent photos for print. The switch on the outside of the phone that changes camera modes is also a rather cute touch...it gives the cell phone a little bit of photo versatility.
All in all, the Sharp 705 / SX 633 is a decent phone.
