It's a nice design I think. The 816SH even comes in nice colours, and the features are nothing but competetive.

After all, this handset is HSDPA - which is important considering that todays network standards are improving rapidly.
For some this may not mean much, but for others HSDPA opens the doors to clearer communication and more flexible access to online services.
The mobile is no longer a sub-standard internet device, it's now stepped up to become part of a wider range of interlinked telco-services.

nothing to get excited about the design is about 2 years to late and very poor feature wise even compared to say a nokia 6280 which is getting on abit.

@GuessBoy

It will be unlocked and come with all major EU languages :)
Vodafone exclusive though, don't think that will matter much though (with exception of the firmware).

@ Andy B

SHARP actually released a 5 megapixel phone in Japan with 3x optical zoom and VGA screen (910SH). But they still need to work on the lense, as the strong zoom brought high noise levels and heavy barrel distortion.

I don't think they will be releasing a 5 megapixel CMOS camera anytime soon.

And another version of the 5MPx CCD is unlikely to be released, but we can only hope.

I wish they would have improved on their existing 3.2mpx matrix as it was the best, and still is the best 3.2mpx module for mobile phones.

Sharp produce some nice mobiles but made a big mess-up just getting its mobiles released just on the Vodafone network ,if they would have let the other networks release there phones i am sure they could have been more succesful by now as there cameras are not bad but i thought they would have released a 5 mega-pixel camera instead of a 2mega-pixel one on this attractive mobile

if you would only pay $50 then you are quite stingy. it's got the best 3g out there with range as good as cdma and the fastest data transfers etc...

SHARP is trying to play with the Europeans and I see this much better suited than the previous 903SH.
Yes, the specs are lower but this will sell well! Nice design and modern, not too overwhelming for the current market.

Well done :)

you are going to pay 50$ for a phone which has got HSDPA, EDGE, GPRS. And the phone which has got the ability to record QVGA VIDOES.
