I work for Voda Australia. We launch 3G in October in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, and major airports including Brisbane. Other places will rollout throughout 2006. And yes we are going to be ranging the Sharp 903. I'll be upgrading to it from my Sharp GX30 for sure :)
Also, the person who was asking about GPRS, I would contact Voda data support on 1300301030.

i just got a 903 this morning. presently living in japan, i bought a 902 when i got here a couple of months ago, it kept on stuffing up, ended up losing all my data so i went and complained to vodafone insisting they upgrade me to the 903. it really is a beautiful mobile phone. the buttons are much nicer on your fingers, its alot faster than the 902 and they seem to have ironed out all of the little anoying niggely bits the 902 suffered from. im from australia too. minimalman, do you think its possible for this phone to be unlocked and used in australia with a local service there???

When does Vodafone 3G Australia finally roll out? I spoke to Vodafone last week regarding my V802 and GPRS, and they insisted it would be available in Wollongong late August.
Some sources say it's October for Sydney, Melbourne & Canberra....
Anything definate? Also, if there are VF people here, can you tell me why I can't use GPRS on the V802/902? Do I need the actual USIM?
cheers,

Hi First Mobile, are you sure it won't be released in NZ? How about in the near future? Perhaps I should get my friend in Japan to get one for me. I wonder if you can change the language to English.

Australia won't have this phone at this stage because the 3G network is not up yet. New Zealand might see it first as 3G is up and running here.

I think the red is a bit too much, probably tie in nicely with the ferrari sponsorship, but the black and champagne colours look great. Certainly better than the silver/white of my 902. Looking forward to seeing this handset in stores soon

It probably won't be coming to australia. I work for vodafone and tried to get some info out of Sharp the other day in regards to this, and they insist it is only for release in Japan at this stage.

Yes it does have an mp3 player and the phone looks way cool when you swivel the top with the earphones plugged in the side.
