@elsa:
You can transfer the photos to PC easily using the included windows software. (You can also transfer them via infrared or bluetooth to Linux via e.g. xircp).
It seems that you cannot turn off the camera sound. It is on even in the "silent" profile.
The vodafone-locked edition does not have themes (although the "vodafone-red" theme is not that bad). You can only change power-on and power-off animations and sounds (to remove the vodafone ones) and the screen background.
Besides having the right select button to always go to "vodafone live!" the phone works perfectly with other carriers (I am talking about a vodafone live locked phone not a sim-locked device).
Hope I helped a bit...

I am considering to buy this phone altough is locked to vodafone and i don't like the vodafone menus, but i have some questions. Is possible to tranfer the photos taken to pc? The phone memory is so limited so i want to send the photos taken to pc to free space. I read on sharp site the maximum photos is 80 and to copy the phone numbers to phone has to be one by one. True? Is possible to turn off the phtoto sound? Is it slow to save the taken photo? Does it have themes? Thanks

The phone is great. Good-looking, light, with a fantastic screen.
I have a problem however:
Does anybody know how I can download my own java applications to the phone? I have a .jar and .jad file, but I cannot see any way to download them to the phone via infrared or bluetooth...
Thanks in advance.

Ah I'm sure the vodafone employees reading this will understand me when I say it's about time we got a replacement for the GX15... if I have to sell another Motorola V550..... I don't know what I'll do. Seriously though, as an ex GX15 user I'm excited about this one. THe GX15 was without a doubt one of the most reliable phones I have seen (ie- least amount of doa/elf, repairs). If this can keep up with the GX15, it'll be a winner for sure.

it only has a 0.3 megapixel camera, but that´s a standard in low-spec phones.

Hey has anyone had problems with downloading java apps off the net onto the phone? I keep getting an error 'Download terminated. Invalid application.' I'm sure it's not the applications fault because the demo version came with the phone. Any insights as to how to fix this would be really appreciated.

To synchronise with headsets even if its a different brand with this phone you should be able to pair it up and enter '0000' as the password. It says on the Sharp Mobile website for GX17
"Bluetooth®: Support for file transfer from PCs or other mobile phones, headset, car kit, hands-free, dial up networking and object push."

The software that came with the phone is there so that you can synchronise with your phone and ur PC using a bluetooth dongle
