I have had Nokia for many years Then a sony-e then back to a nokia(1600)and now Sharp gx17.I am VERY pleased with it.crystal clear lrg screen.Nice photos from camera with pic frames,retouching tools and stamps vry(fun). Easy to use menus.Packed with great features.I do not have any issues with batt'ry life,over heating.The Batt'ry cover is a little easier to get off frm the corner.Infrared wrks fine, make sure u activate infrared on BOTH phones and hold 2cm apart.Now for my gripes: No loud speaker and vc recorded messege is very low in sound on both our sharp gx17's.All in all a great little phone. When all else fails always RTFM

i have a gx17 and when i try to connect to a pc via a blothtoot it ask me a pin code i try whith 0000 but nothing hapen..please coud you help me to know which pin code is needed and where can i find it

This Fone does not have enough memory to hold 1 full music track when i bought it i never had put anything on it the memory stats said 1.6 mb which is very little but it has good video recording with up to 1 minute and design looks great and very light and very little stndby time every 3 or 4 days i do charge it

i hav to agree with ben gx17 memory is aboustly crap and cant hold anything apart from crappy poly ringtones.

It's a great phone, if he had mp3 and an memory card, he would be perfect :P

it has absoloutley rubbish memory on memory status it says 1.5 mb and this is hardly able to fit one song on is this a fault or is it just crap

Hello. I know this might sound dum but i desperately need someones help who is kind enough to give me step by step instructions 4 using bluetooth and infrared with ur computer to get stuf. Thanx :)

I am twelve years old and this is my first phone. Lots of people say that I'm lucky to have such a good first phone. I think that for the price it is excellent and the bluetooth and infrared stuff is awesome.

I want to buy a phone but I don't know which..I like this one but I have doubts about it: the trasference of photos to a computer it's easy?; how many days battery keeps alive?; and about camera quality?is it good?
I apreciate that you answer me as soon as possible!I need a phone urgently!

It is a really good phone except for the memory and the fact that it can not obtain mp3 sounds and videos.on a scale of 1-10,i'd say 4

Very nice phone for a very nice price. One thing that drives me crazy is the camrea shutter sound, it can't be disabled. You need to upload a hacked firmware to disable it. Other than that, it's great, I recommend it.

i'm from romania...and romanian criticizes the memory too little...but they also believe that the telephone is good...this is our opinion about sharp gx17

This phone only has 1.3MB thats right less than a floppy disk, my phones blue tooth works fine with other phones and wireless hands free. Most applications don't work videos etc over 100kb can't be sent to the phone either. Good quality esp the camera and screen but it has very limted features and memory. Its simple and so is the price.

wow just discovered a great option on gx17. keypad can can be used as shorcuts for menu items... its not mentioned anywhere in manuals.
although theres no visible shortcuts possibility - while scrolling through menu items if u press corelating number on your keypad with a menu item position (1,2,3...) it opens it :) u dont have to bother scrolling with navigation keys and opening with centre key
