Well I have had this phone for 2 days now and I think it is exeptional. I bought the phone wanting just a simple handset that let me call, sms and email. You can't blame a phone for being what it is if you didnt find out first. I did my research and picked this phone. As for the keys, they DO light up and night use is fine. If yours don't light up maybe you have a faulty handset? The email function is also easy and simple to use. Quite speedy too. The design of the handset is good too. Slimline and functional. The screen quality is excellent and although the camera is limited, the pictures it produces are fantastic! All in all I would give this phone 9 out of 10.

I bought my phone and in general it is fine - does the job. The charging cover requires fine fingernail to get it open - I find it awkward and is now casualty. The keypad is fine in daylight but not at night it does not light up. The screen is good - and I have yet to find out how to increase letter sizes. Battery I have does not last long enough and I have failed to find an in car hands free kit. The case is good and fits nicely in pocket - the navigation is poor as some functions require an OK whereas others of a similar change do not appear to require the OK. The camera function is OK however Video struggles. The phone was cheap and I guess this is reflected in the item. Would I buy another not sure? I use a blue tooth earpiece - this is fine however it is absent of bleeps when dialling. THe charging connection is a spade type and is fundemantly awakward espedcially in the car - the straight plug type is better.

I've had my GX29 for a month, it was a upgrade from my old GX10. The new phone does everything the old one does and I like the wider spaced buttons for my man size fingers. My only gripes are the key pad doesn't light up at night and your never sure what end you are supposed to open when your in a hurry. Otherwise a nice little phone :)

This phone is light and simple clean and classy looking without trying too hard. I like the keys they are positive and feel nice, the sound quality of calls is much better than my last phone which was a sony ericson. The screen is very good too.

My gripes are on the functionallity end. Firstly you have a calendar which is good but you have an option to put a calendar on your startup screen. The only thing is if your eyes are not that good like mine, the fonts are difficult to read, and you dont have an option to change them.

Also the calculator, the 9 6 and 8 all run together and make it very hard to distinguish clearly what you are looking at, and again you can not change the fonts to make it clearer.

Also on my last phone I had a stopwatch, which was useful if I wanted to mediate, I could set for a hours and it would count down. This phone appears not to have this facility to set a count down times.

Also there is no snooze option on the alarm so if you miss it and fall asleeep it will not keep coming again to wake you, which I had on the last phone.

As I say the sound quality is good and it feels nice generally but I AM disapointed by the functionality, and it is just small things which just take a bit of thinking about, not things which would be difficult to fix at all. So a bit disapointed with sharp over this.

The hardward part is great though, and I feel good about the actual object. But only 7 out of 10 I am affraid. Though I guess I will get used to it.

Got mine yesterday. Awkward to text from, and the screen gets smeary very quickly. But - and this is driving me crazy - no matter how I try, it will not allocate different ring tones to different contacts. I've tried following the instructions, I've tried doing what seems right, and it just doesn't happen. Please, someone, tell me how I can assign different ringtones to different contacts!

I'm very happy with my phone, it's very pretty and is very slim,i'm liking a lot. The only thing bad is the ringtones and games, that i don't know how to use. I have files *.mmf, and some of them can't be copy, other are copy, but when you want to put them as ringtone, they don't allow. I don't understand this, but it's a very nice phone!!!

Received mine 2 days ago, was initially impressed. Nice design, light, seemed good enough. But after 2 days, I find it akward to use (doesnt open easily for some reason) and its awful to text from. The buttons are spaced far apart so quick texting is a nightmare, and the phone seems slow to respond to your button presses, so when typing words to text often letters are missed out.

As my phone was purchased mainly for texting, its on its way back as we speak. Nice design, shame about the performance.

Just upgraded my faithful Nokia to the GX29 and I am very pleased so far. I tend to stick to Nokias as a rule as they are so easy to navigate but thought i would try something new, I am glad I did! Very similar menu options to Nokia and the picture quality is very good.
Well worth a go!
