Hello!!! I m looking for some detailed information about the Sharp GX30. My questions are: How many minutes can you capture on video (storing it to a MMC)? Does the sound synchronises with the frames? Does it have a flash? The menu comes out with many colors or just a few ones? How about the sound of mp3s? Can u listen loud enough or the volume is low?Is it easy to put mp3s to the phone and how?Can u send pictures or video clip from the mobile, through mail? How many hours can u listen to mp3s before the batery runs out? Can u use mp3s as alarm clock? Can u edit the pictures? How many modes of picture taking has it? Does it have a night mode?Does it have a loud speaker?
Thats about it!!!!!!!!!!! My thanks to everyone who will answer!!!! Please mail me!!!!!!

The camera is hard to use simply because it needs to have a long exposure as the lens is so tiny and doesnt capture alot of light (same with all cameras on mobiles). If you set the shutter speed to fast it works better but you need more light to take the picture.

I've used this phone for almost a month and I'm now quite good at taking photos, I'm going to print a few to see how they look.
I use a packard bell card reader, and it's VERY easy to put mp3s, midi files and pictures onto the card.

The Bluetooth/infa-red problems and price of this phone make it a bit of a rip-off but its the price you've got to pay if you want the BEST phone on the market.

And phones4u site it says minimum price for handset is £150? Never seen anywhere where it is free!
And remember, you can change your tariff after 1 month with Vodafone.

Had this phone for 2 weeks and have just returned it for a few reasons. Yes screen is great but camera tracking is REALLY slow, anything that moves even slightly is blurry so its difficult to take any photos that show off the quality of the screen(people never stay TOTALLY still). Video capture is almost unusable coz of the same thing. I got this phone coz I want to play mp3's and there's not much going in UK right now (tried mpx200 - totally crap avoid) and i can't try it out coz it only comes with mono headset and stereo headsets will not be available for AT LEAST 1 month - some much cooler phones coming available by then. Doesn't come with a data cable either so can't try out much else in the way of connectivity.
Also bugged by non-active flip and no voice-dialling - pretty stupid for a clamshell.
It does have some cool features - torch/camera flash is great, SD card, external screen etc. I think its worth waiting for some of the next handsets coming - most of which 1Mpixel or better anyway.

as far as i know all u can do with the calender is to input up to three notes/reminders on each day. You can get the pictures if u put the settings so they save the pictures to the memory card and then buy a seperate card reader and they just come up as normal jpegs

Also, can the photos be downloaded to the computer directly from the memory card without using MMS? Thanks a heap!

Just wonder if anyone could tell me anything about the "organizer" feature. 'Coz I've been using a PDA phone for a while & just wondering if the "organizer" does similar stuff as synchronizing calendar & phone book (using the memory card beyond the 500 name capacity). Thank you very much!!!

hi all,

I've just upgraded my GX10 to the all mighty GX30, all my mates have different makes, all with Bluetooth, imagine my excitement to find my phone(GX10) made to look sleeker, better camera, 8mb starage, mp3's and......bluetooth, I could then join in sending pics via bluetooth, only the GX 30 does let you do that, all you can do is connect to a bluetooth headset, all my mates in the office laughing at me signing that contract. Sharp have ripped us off with the bluetooth, just to get us to send pics via MMS. Not happy :-(

I think the battery is ok, but thats a matter of opinion, I have had no problems with using a seperate card reader/writer while using a 128 mmc card and only takes a couple of minutes to load a whole album on to the card through the writer. Also you can add words to the T9 input, you do this by typing it in with out T9 on and it should automattically save it. Also the only reason u had to view the pic through a computer is becos one of the phones (sender or reciever) has not been set up so they can recieve them, this should be free to do it.

200 minutes contract in uk - phone was FREE and they gave me £50.00 cashback - thats not bad - but only from PHONES4U - NOT Vodaphone shop - they will RIP u off BIGTIME - Had this for three days - so far problems as follows - NO mp3 for ring tone - no usb cable as yet and with 256 Mb upgrade say goodbye to your evening if u want to sit for hours while u load up the memory card with mp3's using the infra red pants. Note normal headphones will not fit so i don't know if an adapter is available and if the sound is in Mono or what - Also only 128kps Single bit rate files are supported. For thos smart alecs who think they can load up the memory card using a "Reader" think twice - i already corrupted one Card by doing this - using a Card Reader - which is obviously NOT a Writer. Also Battery life is pants i'm on 1 pip after 36 hours so charge every night required. OK - on to text - Photo messages not initially set up apparently - i sent a photo from another phone to the GX30 and surprise surprise i got a text message linking me to a web site to log in and view it - i mean HELLO does that sound like crap or what. Anyway another call to Vodaphone and i'm told the phone will receive picture texts within 24 hours - NOT impressed. After you have the phone for approx 48 hours you will receive a call from Vodaphone asking u to pay an additional £4 per month for a loyalty free upgrade after 1 year - i told them to shove it... On the whole i am impressed with the camera and phone functions. Have only had bluetooth headset for short period of time and seems to work ok - closing the lid does'nt hang up the phone as someone previously said - think they have a setting wrong somewhere... Anyway not too many accesories available as yet - i'm using a modified belt case from a GX20 in the mean time - if anyone comes up with a better way of getting MP3's onto the dam phone via the memory card - give me an email... PS T9 text is pain in arse as you cant add to the dictionary - PANT

I've had this phone for a few days now and all i can say is that the screen is AMAZING! its very high resolution means you can hardly see the actual pixels (unless you look really close of course!). at times its just like looking at a high resolution printed image!

its got a whole load of gimmecky features like video camcorder, high resolution camera, mp3 player, etc etc. none of which are professional quality, but are either as good as the best phones on the market or better. For example the camera on this phone is the BEST i've seen on any phone!

there's some neat touches which dont really do much for the phone but definitly add to the wow factor. IE a disco light, wallpapers for BOTH the internal and external screens, decent quality external speaker, and of course polyphonic as well as WAV ringtones.

its more a phone you can show off to people (trust me you'll be doing a lot of that!) than one with features you cant live with out. its not a smartphone so dont expect high end features like outlook synchronisation, web browsing (crappy WAP browsing only), file management, contacts synchronisation with PIM software, etc etc.

everyone i've shown the phone to is blown away by the quality of the screen!

okay here are the answers to all yo ppls questions? the sharp gx30 is a quadband phone and it can not play mp3s as ringtones. the probable reason that u cannot send pics via bluetooth or infrared is because all vodafone cares about is getting money, money and money!! so you have to be stuck with mms!

are you sure there's no USB, coz i have had a Sharp GX30 for nearly 3 weeks and vodafone told me to wait a couple of weeks before accseories i.e. usb data cable to come out.
