I have received this Sharp V801SH cell phone as a gift from a friend in Japan. I am in Canada (Victoria) and wish to find a way to unlock it from Vodafone so I can connect locally. Does anyone have knowledge of how to unlock it? Please let me know by email at: theone@telusmail.net Thanks in advance.

owning the v801sh and the v902sh, I think I like the v801sh better than the v902sh. the 902 doesn't have some of real good feature that the v801sh has.

You can roam (expensive) the V801SH in Romania through "Mobifon" and "COSMOROM" There is no Vodafone in Romania so if you have a V801SH there and is not in contract with Vodafone the phone is useless.

At this time there is no way to unlock the V801SH. There are unlocked 902 version in Europe that you can buy for about $800.

OUCH...answering my own question...seems they have to be MP3's AND put into Playlists, rather than uploaded as seperate files.
Whilst I'm here, if you're quick, this model is currently in Tokyo stores at one Yen!!!

Hmmm...not sure if it's the handset, the media card or the Panasonic Jukebox writer kit for it...but...I just can't get the handset to read the music files I'm burning onto the media card.
Thought it was initially a case of it just reads MP3 and not WMA and WAV...but...even after converting some files (checked and readable on the PC as MP3) the handset still states that there are no files to read/play?
Any thoughts?
TIA
