you should be able to zoom by selecting the up and down buttons during photos (or is it L/R?)but not if max quality is selected
Any BT only works for headset, you cannot pair with another phone

I understood the phone had zoom on it but it only seems to work whilst in video mode. When i looked throught the menu whilst on camera mode the zoom option is in a light grey colour instead of a black. Can anybody help?

does the zoom work on anyones phone. it doesnt look like the 411i has it built in even though the spec. says it has...also it isnt communicating via USB cable and the NEC software supplied with windows XP.

mike, you are using the wrong port..the Nec Mobile Software ports used should be the same as the port displayed when you detect the phone using the device manager...
dudes and dudettes,
i wonder if the phones you bought comes with manual for file transfers and other issues because i find your questions very elementary(sorry). it should be outlined there the limitations of the phone etc...so please, RTFM first before you complain....
thank you.

i'd just like to say that ignorance is the topic here ,this website is designed so that people can come on and make comments about the use of their phones good & bad the company knows that we are having these problems issues so why no instead of playing ignorant come clean and tell us how to use the dam thing up load download cable format blue tooth infra red picture and formats and end the dilema either that refund everyone or exchange for a phone that should do what it says it does on the box. my opinion i think we,ve been ripped off people. you count all the hundreds thousands maybe even millions of pounds spent around the world on something that doesnt perform let alone work half the time i think its time we protested and did something about it.all those in favour say i.

ok people... alot of you are having trouble with downloading mp3, heres what to do.
first if your downloading from the i mode dont try using mp3 ringtones or truetones these wont work you have to download a video ringtone in order to use the truetone as a ringtone. dont bother trying to use the software because ive tried it myself and like alot of you it dos'nt work.. the other way to get mp3 files onto your phone is simply using ir ports however with the limited memory space some files may be too big to use eg( gems sorry) most phones wont let you transfer songs in ther first place but most erics will transfer mp3 with no hassle...
the big problem here is the memory if nec update this phone they better make sure they jump this hurdle so not to let its customers down again.
i like this phone but improvements are needed.

Hello again. My brother in law has just bought one of these from the same shop on the same day and his software worked instantly with no problems. I have used his disk to download his software but still cannot get the software to connect to the phone. His PC is similar spec but he is running XP version 2002 Service pack 2 whereas I am running XP version 2002 service pack 1.
I Would be interested to see if anyone who has posted on this site is using pack 1. Perhaps this is the problem?
What I can say is that my phone will connect and download no problems on his machine so it's NOT A PHONE PROBLEM!!!!!
If anyone left still cares about this issue and is still checking this forum then feel free to contact me.
To check your XP version go to the start button-settings-control panel-system.
Your version will be displayed here. At least by posting yours and saying if you have a problem perhaps some useful will come of your good deed.
I will post any further useful info here if I get it as I know how problems like this can really annoy.

I simply cannot get the file sharing software supplied with this phone to work. Like many other previous posters here, the USB port is recognising the phone is connected but the NEC Mobile Suite Software just does not want to recognise the phone, keeps coming up with "Check NEC Mobile suite & phone language" warning.
I bought this phone to download photo's and to transfer MP3 files but it simply doesn't do that. They are being sold very cheap after their release a few months ago. What does that tell you.
If anyone here can help I'd be extremely grateful for any help. For those thinking of buying, think more than twice. A half decent phone let down by hopeless software. I haven't tried the O2 staff yet but I guess it's worth a go. If I get any joy I will post back here with the info.
COME ON PEOPLE. WE CAN DO THIS................can't we?????
