Cheers,

For connecting the phone to the PC you need to get hold of a CD rom called NEC Mobiling Suite and a usb cable. load the drivers before connecting the phone then install the software

bluetooth is not the best on this phone. you need to use a jabra or nokia headset

no data transfer via bluetooth.

mp3..not on the n411i version only the e540 version. it isn't a problem with the phone..it is due to DRM rights on i-mode

I just recently upgraded to NEC 411i and I regreat having done so now - the reason: the radiatons are really bad, I can feel them physically and it feels really bad. The camera is of terribly low quality, I'm very disappointed. Keypad no.5 feels bad, it's got a different shape than the rest of the keypads, I don't understand why this has to be so: it has been designed with a cavity and a protuberence in the middle, which makes it less smooth to press - really bothering for a heavy user of SMS as myself. Compared to my Siemens M55, which had far less functions, it doesn't feel like an upgrade but rather as a pitfall.

Thats right alot of the time you will find that phones that are only maufactured by NOKIA, samsung, SE and motorola now only have full bluetooth functionality allowing you to share data as well as headset use.

The rest of the mobile phone manufactures dont always support full data bluetooth on their handsets to save costs but wont tell the customer whether its fully bluetooth enabled or not. They really are targeting bargain hunters who are under the impression their getting a good deal. Always check first when purchsasing from the non popular manufactures.

This phone only uses bluetooth for connection to the headset not data transfer. The E949 and N500i do data transfer but not this one

The earphone works, but that wasn't the problem. It is the connection between my PC en the phone that doesn't work. Every time i try to connect my phone and my PC i get the message that the phone is not recognised.

using bluetooth is really simple. switch the bluetooth on (in accessories). next run the pair new devices. make sure your headset is on. when your phone identifies the headset, choose to pair it. it will ask for a pass number. this depends on the headset, normally 0000 or 1111..then you can start using it. remember bluetooth will affect your battery life so switch the bluetooth off when not using it

Hi Paul,

I saw that you where talking about the data transfer using the Nec N411i in combination with Bluetooth. I’ am the first one in the Netherlands wit a Nec N411i. I don’t have a manuel so I can read how I can use the Bluetooth functionality from my n411i. I bought an Bluetooth earphone wich works perfect. In combination with my PC end a Bluetooth dongle it gives problemens. I only can use the modem from my GSM, so when I want to do this i can call with my PC. Data transfer, the maine reason for wich I bought a Bluetooth dongle doesn’t work. Can you give me some advice?

Thanks,

The E540 can support MP3 ringtones but the N411i doesn't due to legal DRM issues. Both have bluetooth that can be used for headsets and data transfer. The N411i is available in France now plus a few other countries soon. I believe O2 are buying it
