When you say speaker volume is low do you mean the hands-free speaker volume is low or when you put the phone to your ear the volume is low?

> In reply to srki @ 2012-05-29 10:27 from uunU - click to readThough I also thought this "rang a bell" somewhere, and googling around it seems a number of phones (Sony and other manufacturers) have a bit of a problem with a pink/purple cast over part of the image. Sony forums seem to suggest it's worst with auto white-balance, though I can't see any reason for that. I've not yet noticed it on my XU, but will keep an eye out now.

It's cheaper than galaxy ace 2 so competition doesn't arise.
Xperia u is one the most affordable dual core powered device around.if there would have been support to expand the memory it would have been No. 1 device in it's catagory.i know it's owners are happy with 4gb user available non expandable memory and it's gud for the people who r content with the limited storage.for people who like more storage probably a 8 or 16 gb Sdcard on their phone this device is not for u and that includes me too.

I have bought this phone, i think:

# The good things is:
- Menu with future ICS update is great
(I think update is important)
- The screen is great
- 1 ghz dual core with mali 400 is great combination, there are no lag in every software
- I like the bottom led bar
- I like the changeable cap
- Dont like playing game on phone coz i have psp for best gaming
- the photo is great for 5 mpxl, i don use it very much coz ill use camera digital with more mpxl on it :)
- the memory for 4Gb i think is enought coz i just use it for mp3 and open some pdf and pdb, dont like watching video HD in a small screen, coz i use a large led tv to watch it
- This phone like any other phone is use to call, sms and mms :)

The bad things is:
- Sony service centre in indonesia is not realy good, it tooks long time just to repair, some others people complaining it, i hope sony make a big change for it, make better, coz i think sony have the best new discovery and great future on smartphone selling.

> In reply to Babu @ 2012-05-28 18:21 from uvjW - click to readif u r going for Samsung you will get better screen size, better RAM and expandable memory slot.

if u r going for Sony you will get Scratch resistant screen, 1 Ghz dual core, ICS update and illuminating bar in the bottom.

Choice is yours. Btw, Galaxy Ace 2 is out already?

Well here is a short review by me , i got mine yesterday.

Pros :

Screen Quality is Awesome.
Better viewing angles (than Neo V, Ray, Arc)
Touch Very Responsive
Excellent Sound Quality (Equalizer is just awesome)
Camera Quality is good (Not Excellent)
Light on the bottom looks really nice in tha dark
No issue with Call
TimeScape is better than TouchWiz but not as good as Sense.
Browsing is also fast.
FB integration is plus.
Smart Dial this time ( though its a bit slow)

Cons :
Heating issue - while playing songs or games..
Speaker is low in volume and is just OK!
Battery back up - lasts for 1 day at maxx
I wont say anything about Memory - We all know that.
Video Quality is bad.
No HDMI.
USB on the go consumes lots of battery (but then it is true for all devices)

Conc: right now , i would say it is the best mobile in its range...if anyone has isseue with the memory , go for Sola but stop criticizing this mobile now .. You cant get everything at such rock bottom price..:)

Regards
Anuj

> In reply to BinKo @ 2012-05-28 16:41 from py7Z - click to readFrom where I'm looking, they quite like it.

To take their summary negatives one by one:

Subpar video quality - yeah not brilliant, but it's a budget phone recording 720p which is better than most

No microSD slot - horses for courses ;-) I for one would have been happy if it had proper mass storage support rather than cruddy MTP

Lack of oleophobic coating - who wouldn't put on a screen protector anyway, making such a coating pointless?

To further enhance my point how less than average is this phone, have a look at the review from Phone Arena

No memory card, only 4Gb user available memory, less than average camera and video...Here in Thailand same price (9900 bahts= 250€) as Samsung Ace 2 far better in every aspect. Must be crazy to buy Xperia U...or for an 11 years old girl who likes the pink bottom cap...

Screen quality issue must be the digitizer (the circle thing on screen), its not defect.
