No. The rubber is not wearproof. It will expand, show marks and scratches eventually due to wear and tear and accidental drops. It also easily gets dirty since the dirt sticks to the rubber. These are tradeoffs to having rubber parts w/c improve phone durability.

Yes its quite hard to remove the simcard. But I think Siemens did this on purpose because its supposed to be shock resistant. If the simcard can easily be removed, it might be dislodged when dropped. The ME75 is a wise buy.

Wow! The phone was totally abused! Too bad I dont understand Russian....They even washed it w/out the battery and cover which is quite dumb. Of course water would seep through without the cover! Bottomline is this phone is a great buy. For its price, the ME75 has a lot to offer and its rocks!

To those encountering problems with the software....I suggest you try their firmware download service-over-the-air. Its a free software upgrade without having to connect it to a pc. Check out the benq-siemens website for instructions. I just tried it and i got the latest sw version already. Siemens rules!!!

Two problems.
Phone blocked while I try to capture some video and I disconect the battery to take back to normal.

One more great problem- It is almoust imposible to easy change the SIM card from this phone when you first time put in phone. They dont count that somebody want to change SIM card from this phone- unbelivable.

I have it for 2 weeks now. Battery last 4-5 days if you dont use it much and if display contrast set to low value and if screensaver is energysaving. I dont prefer joisticks. I would rather to see navipad on this kind of phone. Last row of keys is placed to low it would be beter if they put it on higher position.
I think that digital clock as screensaver consuming more electric power than analog clock, but analog clock is almost useless.

well; after about 3 years and a few months with the ME45, i think it's about time to go to ME75,but not so fast, it still hasn't arrived the markets here in Jordan, plus; i am the kind of person who buys the mobile in it's last days in the market, so i pay less-come on, in one year time it will be at least 50% cheaper than when it first comes out....
anyway, thanks for all the guys who give advices, they are quite useful...
ciao

Of course it makes difference especially in the software..but also in the way phone is assembled..i would reccomend to get a siemens ME75 which says:Made in (any place inside EU, better Germany or nordic countries) I had Nokia made in China and it was a terrible phone..

Guys...siemens ME75 is one of the best phones in the current market especially for those people looking for a phone without extensive multimedia features..just the basis..The best this phone offers is great display and phantastic durability (resisted to a crash from 3rd floor with only a slight mark in the rubber band as well as to a bucket full of water :) The last but not least to mention is the battery..the mighty 1000mAh..almost like a Duracell :) In fact with 3 hours of daily talk + sms use + photo + 24h continuous standby I need to charge it only once a week..incredible but true..even when u notice that the battery shows empty don't worry..this baby will keep u going for at least 1 day..thank you siemens..this phone costs little but buying it it's worth it!!!

Think I'll keep my M65 untill we see a robust (watter/ dust resistant) phone with bluetooth!
