this site seems to be the only one who has snapshots taken with the S65. The 7610 has been reviewed everywhere, and here are links to the sites I like the most:

Both the S65 and the 7610 fail when the pictures include lots of fine details, but IMO the 7610 has better exposure and white balance.
Like I said I really want to buy the S65 because of the price, but if the quality of the camera is like what they published here, then I'd just probably buy a Samsung X600 (which takes excellent VGA-sized pictures) and a separate Sony DSC-U50 (a very small but very capable 2MP camera). I'm making a photo diary and a weblog that's why I'm so keen on picture qualtity.

I'm disappointed by the S65's photos. Very poor in my opinion. Not that the Nokia's were much good, but it looks like 'back to the drawing board' for Siemens. Maybe in 2005 we'll see some decent camera phones with 2MP and CCD. Let's hope so.

are u sure that 7610 pics look better?
i`ve compared the S65`s pic to the 7610. IMO the S65 looks alot better...just that the color saturation is not as good but the clarity is much better. can i have the link to the site so that i can recompare? thx

pictures taken by the 7610 look much better, but is it possible that the s65 will fix the camera glitches when it finally releases this phone next week? the camera may be not as good as the 7610's but the price is so much more wallet-friendly.

see for yourself..but the 7610 has better colour saturation IMO...can be corrected using PSP

Too right. When I look at the shit from SonyEricsson and Nokia, I despair! Only Seimens and possibly Motorola and Samsung produce decent phones now. The rest is unmentionable garbage.
