The 30MB stated on the Technical Specifications of the Siemens SK65 is the over-all internal memory of the phone. 21.75MB of this 30MB memory are the pre-installed applications and Blackberry Programs, which are read-ony files and are not possible to be modified or changed. The remaining 8.25MB is dedicated to the Flexi File System, where you save all your files (received or created) like messages (e.g. E-mails, MMS, SMS) and downloaded applications (e.g. pictures, icons, ringtones). hope this helps.

I think some of you are missing the purpose of a phone. The purpose of a phone is to make phone calls. Does it really need a camera, mp3 playing capabilities, a card reading slot??? If you want a camera, buy a digital camera, if you want a mp3 player, buy one and if you want more memory space on the phone some wierd reason, ask yourself, a normal at home phone doesn't need all this crap so why should my mobile variety of phone have it?
So stop bitching about it.

Hi all, just for real users of this gem of a blackberry device... who are interested about extending battery life... the Siemens one press shortcut interface is one of the best around... use it as a shortcut to activate/deactivate bluetooth and GPRS. Never set your SK65 to the digital clock screensaver as it seriously drains battery. Controlling these 3 setting will see you double your battery time easily. Cheers all, hope that helps some users out there.

The sell phone simply the best.Because, 64MB memory is to long. But it would have been better if there were a camera.

Just ordered one for $179 in the US. Couldn't resist because it looks so awesome. I suspect this form factor could beat out the competition if it incoporates an MP3 and 2 megapixel camera. Time will tell.

Picked up the SK65 at Optus (Aus) for $129!! What a bargin. I like the QWERTY keyboard and style of the phone. I don't like the user interface at all. Note that the label on the back of this phone states that it is made by BenQ in Germany. All in all for $129 this is the best value phone I have ever purchased.

it is absolute madness ! $129 at Optus prepaid and the phone comes unlocked. Best offer on a phone ever... Run to your local optus store cause offer is strictly limited.
Australia only.
