i owned this kind of phone 2 years ago and i would say that this is one sh*t of a phone!....it wont sustain long if you play mp3's for a couple of hours even though it has a memory card...it also easily got low-bat so i had to charge it almost every 2 hours!.....i ended up going to the service center for 5 times!...i really utilized the warranty they provided when i bought the phone, i dump this when the service center were'nt able to fix it anymore...if your planning to buy this fone, i tell you...DON'T!!!

this phone rocks i put a mmc card on it and he acept the 2gb mmc most of nokia and samsung in 2003 dont acept more than 1gb and half of phones back 2003 dont have memory card.
all most of siemens phones can be a sh**t but this phone is the best
if siemens has more phones like this maybe exist on the market phones like sony ericsson do.
yah sony ericsson a few years ago is a bad brand cellphones was ugly, no batery time and no sexy phones, now have the more sexy phones in the world, batery times is the best in the market and dont say iphone is the best because not. try xperia from se and you see what is a multimedia, bussiness phone!!!!

I owned SX1 back 2004, Software is a symbian 60 a software made by Nokia. The phone is already dead last 2005 since Siemens service center cannot fix it anymore I change my phone already

Got this unit Sep 04. Though this was brought for repair (could actually have been with the service center longer than I've ever used it) a lotta times, it still is the best phone for me, until now, and maybe for a longer period. Might be because this is just my 2nd phone since 2001 (Nokia 5110) and I rarely am captivated by new products.
My terms of choosing a handset basically is by the design and what it's capable of. The sleek design of this (SX1) is one of a kind, the uniqueness, and having to know that only a few of us owns this gives a feeling of satisfaction, a feeling of pride. Not to mention, the functionality of this, providing you the basics (sms, calls, etc) of your mobile with add-ons too (games, etc).
I have one concern though, and if anybody can provide an answer, please. I just have a dilemma in accepting large files due to internal mem is limited, are there means to actually redirect these [files] directly onto the MMC? Appreciate any suggestion.
With all these said, please know I'm a proud owner of one!

Hello there. I still own and feel fully proud of this sleek mobile masterpiece after buying this in Thailand from MBK (since 2004). This is the one and only one symbian phone from SIEMENS before merging with benQ.
Any symbian phone in this world naturally hangs depending on how big is its RAM and firmware stability. Firmware upgrade cannot be avoided and this can be tricky to make things worse, if you are careless. I burnt out my SX1-OMAP once and have it replaced at an incredibly high price. It was my last time to play with firmware. So far, little sx1 rarely goes hanging and seems to be so humble as it is getting older. Housing has run out with my plan to buy new housing from germanmobile.com with carbon black version.
Could anyone never used this state-of-the-art phone keep any words for oneself? Your biased comment does not make any good to this old discontinued phone, yet the dignity and proudness of existing owners. Unique keypad layout suits my sms typing fully.
3 reasons I love this sx1 with heartfelt sympathy to throw it away.
1. one and only one SIEMENS symbian phone
2. full features: FM, memory slot, MP3 (supreme quality with O2 player), video, camera (even, this is only VGA).
3. uniqueness you can be proud of

I,ve had sx1 model since 3.5 years ago.
It satisfied me.but time 2 time it,s BT makes s.b in trouble because of it,s low connectivity & other it,s BT transfering storage as you know very very low capable.

those who say sx1 is bad they sure dont have use it..it was the best symbian device uptill jan 2005....it still holds a very strong position in symbian devices.

The phone is amazing! I hope that Siemens would come up with an improved version of it in 2008 and beyond. That would be great.Most advanced phone ever made and best looking phone ever made.MOST Beautiful

The Siemens Sx1...The Best phone ever made and even though it is an old phone i think it can still be big copetition to other latest mobile phones.The phone was so advaced for its time.What surprises me thogh is that nobody really heard of it and never sold quite as good as the other phones of its time.Software is great! This phone is a TITAN.Only bad thing is software problems.

Dear Sirs,
I have just bought a used SX1 which i found it an excellent phone except 2 things as follows:
1- The phone can not read Arabic at all.
2- Internal Storrage (fromm File Man.) is 3.87 MB.
So please advise if there is any Software could be implemented to the phone to enable Arabic language, and advise is the phone storage is 3.87 Mb or not.
