Hi,
i'm absulutly desperate !
i just bought a used one with very old firmware ( SVN:10, Appl SW: 12.2_10 ) and it
has a lot of errors...i reseted the phone but it doesn't fit some problems...software crashes sometimes when i try to finish a call or if i want to take a call during i am in the menue
I don't find a working Software to synchronize my Outlook Contacts (I can't find the MPM Symbian Update / SDS for SX1 on the net... Siemens closed all their mobile sites and Benq shows no support for the SX1). I tried Oxygen Phone Manager II 2.41 - can't find my SX1 via Bluetooth.
sorry for my bad english and greetings from germany
maybe...can someone plz send me a newer firmware or the softwareupdate ?

i have had this phone for about 4 years now and i aint had a problem with it. I was suprised that it ran s60 like on the old nokia s60 phones and the ngage. If you guys didnt know but you can play ngage games on the sx1 and install s60 software.

it's unique and the first mobile with camera,video,mp3,mmc etc.by siemens in compare with nokia,motorola.I am using it 5 years now 2003-2007 and i love it,i can't find something like this.

I'm very lucky to get my SX1 first hand 6 months before its discontinue and its still works now and I've no problem with the phone even the phone has been almost 2,5 years.I won't sold this phone even now we have a lot of newest cell phones. Thanks

this phone is already 4 years since announced and lauched. i just wanted to take great view of those great innovations given by the phone manufacturers SE, Nokia, Samsung, Panasonic and Siemens and motorola which shocked all users back in the year 2003...
seems like it's good looking back the history!

U need to buy an external gps reciever & conect it via BT.Of course if all u wnat is maps & directions,try tomtom or others.

That certainly will do it anyway, hey well trying to help. Check this I've even spilled Vodka on mine, it was a direct hit. As you where happy with yours, I am with mine. You wouldn't happen to know where to find a gps, for gprs..?

If u r talking about me,I have already done that.And yes,I did install many apps & games.
The phone became very unstable,it would hang within 5 secs on powering on & then would reboot.I couldn'nt do anything.So I decided to reflash it with the official ver 15.But unfortunately,it shut down during the process.ANd now it wpnt power on......

I've had my phone for a few years, I work in the pc industry so this phone fits my style. The errors are usually due to me messing with it. I've got updates and manuals, I have java applets, chess and even solitaire, and have other programs that allow sending and recieving of sms, and mms free. I constantly max this phones capabilties. Outside of not having a wi-fi card, or built in GPRS, this phone pound for pound, or lets say ounce for ounce is untouchable. This phone is a tech's dream, if anyone would like assistance or is in need of software/information I will certianly assist.For the posting that's having a problem resetting the phone attempt holding down the ( # + *) as you power the phone on.

This was my all time fav phone.I still have it albeit,its dead.Every one kknows about the features & its pros & cons.But I would say the biggest disadvantage was that it was Siemens.They really couldn't market it properly & then they shut shop.
I searched all over Mumbai for this back in Dec 04.I finally got it from an obscure shop in the outskirts.The phone was amazing,but mine came with an fauly charger.Forunaely there was one service center (for the whole city) & got it repaired after 3 months(yes thats how long it took them!).It was quite stable since then,excpet it would occasionally scare me wth those wierd sound at startups.
Anyway,in Jan this year,it finally died,the battery just died & even after getting another one(searching for one took me a whole month & an duplicate Chinese made),just couldn't revive it.Its locked in my cupboard.I did get myself an N80 though!

It's very good phone.
I want to convert its camera from VGA to Mega pixel by S/W. anybody help me please. I need a software to do this. also I need software for unlimited movie and voice recording.

my sx1 has a problem and i need the software to be re uploaded but don't know how to get it cuz we don't have a support center in ghana.

This phone is a freak!!!!!!!!!! very low quality key pad design. It firm-ware sucks!!!! Fragile operating System. This phone freezes after every 1 hour. Just it has a good FM radio. Otherwise Nokia 6600 is far more better

Morgan I had the same problem, cost me £30 to get the software reset and uploaded. No other way round it.

It's still a great phone...allthought it was launched in 2003
I expect from Siemens to change a little his design....and with the nowdays hi-tech
will result a.....wow..wow phone.

My phone is out of its guaranty period. When I switch the power button on,I get the following message: app closed main !
The phone then switches off...this all happens very quickly.
Has anyone else experienced a similar problem and if so can you help?
