current using this fone and found it a great fone to have...has all the things needed to be a good fone and the best is, it has a stereo mp3 player...design is futuristic and after adapted to the keypad, found no prob typing with it..2 thumbs up..

The siemens sx1 is a top phone, even today, I bought mine 3 years ago. I have had problems with it but have found the customer service from Siemens to be excellent. The phone has Bluetooth as well as infra red so the connectivity is excellent. You can use RS MMC cards in it with no problem. Im even using Route 66 on it (it cant handle Tom tom due to memory) with the SX1 car kit installed. In short i havent found a phone in 3 years that will give me something extra worth having. The alarm clock on the world clock is excellent, even the Nokia N70 doesnt have the alarm that you can set for working days, weekends etc. Great feature. Siemens... SX2 please!! And dont lose any of these features from the SX1. New firmware upgrade (free from siemens site) has nightshot, and is terrific.

well the phone is best in all ways but its camera result is not impressing in night.Is there any software for improving camera result in night.

i think its a great mobile,, but i wanna ask (can we send the mp3 songs??) and can we use these songs as a ringtones?? and i think that the video is very poor and the camera doesnt have a night mode!!! but even though i love this mobile

Why in this specification tell SX1 can support Java MIDP 2.0 but my SX1 can't run Java MIDP 2.0 how can i do that. Thanks

The new era of technology has begun with Nokia 6600 and Siemens SX1. Those are the best phones i have ever seen, even though they're kinda old, they are very competitive with any other phone.

Well, so far i've been using Siemens SX1 for 5 months using the black Mclaren Edition. The MP3 is stereo. But i seldom use the MP3 coz im using Symbian OGG player. The screen is quite surpassing but not that bright.
Ringtone is quite soft but with vibration moe, it vibrates well, and alerts you of incoming calls and message. Well, U cant change themes. Live with the 4 themes inside the phone.
It supports Nokia 7650 N 3650 applications under Symbian v6.0 OS. Any programs run with these 2 Nokia phones should probably also run in SX1.
Well, it seldoms hangs, and if there is an attack, i mean.. bad attack on your SX1, u can simply reformat it. well, just bear the loss of data.

hey , are you saying that if you press * and 3 keys on a siemens, and keep them for a while,the phone formats its self(runs a master reset)? please reply

First Format the Phone bye holding the * and # keys and turn the phone on(Keep holding those two keys),and Reflash the firmware of your varient.

I got the SIEMENS SX1 mobile phone from abroad my younger brother sent it for me. The handset is very good in maintaining network in places far from the service provider. Features include all for multimedia access. But being a larger size,heavy weight,abnormally placed dial keys make it somewhat disadvantageous. Recently it does not open. An eye appears for some time and thereafter shows an empty screen. I contacted local repairmen but they claimed that they bought no accessory for that particular one as they are more costly. However I might not peel off it. I will try later myself to activate it again. This was really a good companion of me during leisure.

My SX1 turns itself off every time I try to turn it on... you get the eye etc, but as soon as it tries to display the normal mode, it turns itself off. Any ideas? I am running the latest firmware upgrade and had no problems with it.

Whatever?! Find some program and convert song (fragment) into 30s *.wav, which won't have more than 3mb (in good quality). Is it a problem for your card? I don't think so :) unless you need one ringtone for each person in your book...

Can someone just tell me how to set the short mp3s as ringtone on my sx1. some guy said its possible but i dont know how.Besides, i think the phone could have been the bomb if not for the short battery life and the keypad arrangement.
